We had planned to leave at first light but as it turned out, we had all slept so peaceful, we didn't wake at dawn.
Me and Legolas were the first ones up as usual. I didn't want to speak to him at that moment, not after my embarrassing mishaps the night before. I left Legolas to dress in silence while I did the same, away from his view of course.
As Legolas started to wake the others, I sat down on the root of a tree and sharpened my weapons. Many thought that I had too many weapons but they're wrong, you can never be too prepared.
My bow was able to defeat enemies at a distance. My daggers were for short range and long range combat. My short sword and broadsword (though seldom used) came in handy when slaying things like golbins. My axe is able to crush bones and cripple armour, great for fighting Orcs.
My axe looked a bit worse for wear because of everything I had put it though recently. A large chunk of it had been cleaved off by the ice on the mountain and the rest of it was scrapped and cut from our fight within Moria.
Sighing heavily, I pulled on my black cloak and hung my dark scarf around my neck. I didn't necessarily need them in that moment but after what happened the day before, I wanted as many layers on me as possible.
As the others awoke, I saw mother Galadriel glide over to us. She told us our boats were being readied for our journey down river.
Some of the servants came to bring us our breakfast and we all eat heartily once again. We doubted we would be able to have another decent meal for another month so we took what we could get.
Even Gimli, whose culture usually ate meat with every meal, enjoyed the food the elves put down for us. Legolas was greatfull as well, having spent the last month with the Fellowship, he was likely sick of eating meat.
Before we could leave, however, Celeborn and Galadriel told us they had gifts for us. We were all intrigued, what else could we possibly need? They had given us shelter, food and transportation.
We stood by the shore, our little boats waiting for us. We packed all of our supplies, ready for our long journey.
"Lembas, Elvish waybread." Legolas observed as he opened one of the packs to pick up some of the bread and bite some off the corner, "One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man."
Merry and Pippin, who had been listening to Legolas, nodded thoughtfully as the blonde elf stuffed the bread back into its pack and loaded it onto the boat.
"How many did you eat?" I heard Merry whisper.
"Four," Pippin burped, making me chuckle under my breath.
"I had three," I whispered quietly to them as I loaded another pack onto the boat.
What can I say? I have the appetite of a dwarf.

Lor Celeborn and Lady Galadriel greeted us at the boats.
They presented us with forest green cloaks, made with the finest materials of Lothlórien. Mother knew better than to offer me one because I already had my own though it was as black as the sky at night.
"Never before have we clad strangers in the garb of our own people." Celeborn explained as the servants came forward again, "May these cloaks help shield you from unfriendly eyes."
I watched as the servant in front of me pinned a beautiful broach to the front of my cloak. It was a silver and green leaf, intricately designed.
I looked over at the others and saw only a small difference between mine and theirs. Mine was a slightly different colour. On one side, it was as green as the forest but as my eyes glided over it, I saw the other side melt into the colour of blue. Best of both worlds.
