Chapter 8

"Hi there! You must be- Eh, ehhhhhhh?" A little man with a dino lizard asked the Energy Gunner.

"Hello! My name is Layla!" She said.

"Oh hi Layla! My name is Barats, and this is my pet dino lizard Detona!" He said.

"Okay! So what are you doing here?" Layla asked.

"Oh nothing!" Barats said. Then they both looked at Clint and Amy, Amy just pulling Clint's arm and dragging him to a horse.

"We hate that woman! Right Detona?" Barats said to Layla and asked Detona. Then the dino lizard nodded.

"Alright!" Layla said, then she saw a hotel.

Wow! A hotel! That's a good place to stay in!

It's really hot here in Los Pecados!

Then Layla entered the hotel. The hallway was very empty.

Really deserted hallway!

Then she went upstairs. There were tags on the doorknobs saying OCCUPIED.

A girl went outside. She had dark brown messy hair, wore an Egyptian collar, and held a funny looking staff. She also wore an 80's headband for some reason.

"Hello! Are you staying here for a while?" The girl asked.

"Yes," said Layla, "My name is Layla, by the way I'm sixteen. And you are?"

"I'm Mathilda, Clint's partner. I'm guessing you came here because Clint needed a marksman?" She asked.

"Uh, yes." Layla said.

"Come in my room," said Mathilda, "I'm not really gonna use this room, because Clint and I are gonna fight that idiotic Waldo again."

"Waldo?" Said Layla. She placed her stuff at a corner. The she asked Mathilda "Who's Waldo?"

"Waldo Kane is the worst villain we've ever fought." Mathilda explained, "We've been chasing him ever since before Clint even sent the postman. He's terrible."

"And who are his teammates?" Layla asked.

"Some weirdos, and four powerful heroes too, like Esmeralda, Franco, and Aldous. Even Claude."

"Oh!" Layla exclaimed. After their conversation, Mathilda went away, so Layla grabbed her phone from her suitcase. Then she started to call her friends from Eruditio in a zoom meeting.

"Hello everyone! Layla happily said.

"Hi Layla!" Lolita exclaimed.

"Hello!" Diggie shouted.

"Hi!" Chou said.

"Wassup?" Johnson said.

"It's good here! I'm enjoying it!" said Layla. Then she asked "Where's Eudora?"

"Oh she left," Lolita explained, "Remember? She only came here for a visit. She and Gord returned to the Magic Academy in Northern Vale, and Gusion went back to Castle Aberleen in Moniyan."

"Oh." Layla said. She was shocked about the fact that she forgot that Eudora only went there to stay for a while.

"But the good news though," said Chou, "is that we have a new friend!"

"Really? Sounds awesome!" Layla exclaimed.

"I'll introduce to you... Beatrix!" Johnson said, then a girl with short pink hair appeared.

"Hi guys! And hello, you must be Layla! How's your adventure?" Beatrix asked.

"Going well!" Layla explained, "I met this cute guy! His name is Clint, and he's really nice!"

"And crappy." Diggie said. Then he started to blow raspberry.

"Uh, Diggie. That's a hundred percent rude." Beatrix said, so Diggie stopped.

What Layla didn't notice was that a blonde haired cheeky girl was listening to Layla by sticking her ear on the door. Then she went out to look for Clint.
