I wake up to Octavia shaking my shoulder, and telling me to wake up. I open my eyes, and see that Octavia is fully dressed, in a violet sundress, her long dark hair in a side fishtail. I remember why she's waking me up at nine in the morning. We're going to the lake today, with Jasper and Monty.
"Ok, Octavia, I'm up, I'm up." I say, sitting up and getting out of bed.
On my dresser is an orange sports bra and blue swim shorts. I shoo Octavia out of my room, and get changed into my swimwear. Over top, I wear a yellow tank top and jean shorts. There is no way I'm wearing a dress. As for my hair, it just goes in a messy bun.
I step out of my room, and into the bathroom to brush my teeth. By the time Octavia and I have finished packing towels, snacks, drinks, it's nine-twenty. Ten minutes until Monty and Jasper come pick us up. It's an almost two hour drive to the lake so we have to leave early.
Clarke comes downstairs in her pajamas, her blonde curls a mess. Octavia and I sit at the table, both of us eating a bowl of cereal.
"Clarke," I say, shifting my position to look at her, "Octavia and I are going to be at the lake all day."
"I know, you told us last week." Clarke says, grabbing a glass and filling it with water.
"So, you and Bellamy will have the house to yourselves all day." Octavia raises her eyebrows and smirks.
"Octavia!" Clarke's cheeks turn a light pink, and she laughs.
I hear a knock at the door. "They're here," I say grabbing the bag for the lake, "see you later!" I say to Clarke, as Octavia and I open the door.
Jasper and Monty stand outside. "Ready?" Jasper asks.
I nod, and we head outside, and towards Jasper's car. He takes my bag and places it in the trunk, and Octavia and I sit in the back. Jasper's driving; Monty's sitting in the passenger seat.
"Jasper, don't you dare crash this car." I say, punching his shoulder.
"What is it with you and punching?" He asks, laughing. He starts the car, and drives in he direction of the lake. We all sing along to every song on the radio together.

About two hours later, we reach the lake. The warm summer air is perfect temperature for swimming. The usually busy lake is only populated by a few people. Immediately, being the goofball that he is, Jasper takes of his clothes, revealing red swim trunks, and runs into the lake.
I can imagine what the other people are thinking: Oh, would you look at those idiotic teenagers, probably going to get drunk and ruin our day at the lake.
Monty follows after Jasper, leaving me and Octavia sitting on the warm sand in our swimsuits. I plan to go in later, just not quite yet. But, of course, Jasper has other plans. He stands in front of me, sopping wet. I know what he's about to do.
"Jasper, don't you dare-" but I'm cut off by Jasper picking me up, and over his shoulder. "Jasper!" I yell, hitting his bare back. Octavia just laughs.
He runs into the cool water, until it is up to his chest. With his hands on my waist, he puts me down. I gasp, surprised at the cool water. Even though I'm in the water, Jasper doesn't remove his hands from my waist. It takes me a second to realize that my hands are on his shoulders, but I don't remove them either. Instead, I feel as if the whole world has disappeared around us; that it's just me and Jasper. I move closer to him, and even though I've known him for seven years, I feel like this is the first time with him, so close to him.
I put my arms around his neck, it is like when we were dancing at the wedding. Except this time it's different. This time I kiss him. Jasper's hands go to my back, pulling me closer as he kisses me back. I smile against his lips as I put my hand to the back of his head.
I hear a whistle, and pull back slowly. My eyes open, and I remember that we're at the lake. This was the best trip to the lake yet.
So........how'd you like it??
