Yen - a strong desire or need to do something

I grin at him from afar. I want to speak to him, and get to know him, but it's not a desire I could act on. Ever.
It would be hard enough if he was one of the 'popular' kids, or a hipster with an odd and mismatched circle of friends, but instead he was antisocial. Not the kind when someone just isn't very sociable; the personality disorder.
So instead of speaking to him, I would watch him and treasure the way he would behave, even if others couldn't accept it.
