Chapter 30: Trip down memory lane 6

"Wait...what?"

"I said I didn't even get the chance to tell you how much I love you.........wait...... aaaah! Zombie!" He dropped the body he was holding to the floor and ran back a few paces, his entire being shaking. Elayna stood up and dusted her clothes. She looked at the person in front of her and wondered how pathetic he was.

"Weren't you the one who was begging me to wake up?"

"I just said that since everyone says that. I didn't think you would actually wake up. But aren't you dead?"

"Don't you go hunting with your dad? If you did, you would have noticed that this blood is over seven days old and it's of a deer, not of a human... Hold up buster, you are changing the subject. What did you just say back there?"

"Well I was planning on telling you this in much more romantic conditions and not next to a pool of deer blood," he mumbled under his breath with his eyes facing the forest floor, he then looked up so as to see her reaction to what he was about to say, "I am in love with you princess, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She looked at the person in front of her for a long time and she bent her head, her body shaking.

"Elayna, are you okay?" he asked as he stepped closer to her. When he was close enough, he saw that she wasn't crying, but was laughing hysterically. She raised her head and wiped the tears at the side of her eyes.

"Woah, Ricky, I never knew you this funny." Erick's face contorted into an ugly frown.

"Who said I was joking? I am bloody serious right now." When she looked at the person in front of her, she saw that he really was serious. She stopped laughing and decided to be serious with him as well.

"Look Erick, you can't fall in love with someone in less than two weeks. That's just absurd. Infatuation, sure, but love, that is just too strong of an emotion." She crossed her arms across her chest waiting for his response.

"You don't believe me? Well then, stay here for just one more month and let's see if you won't start seeing me the same way. Just one month." Elayna thought about it and decided to give him a chance and see if she could, 'feel the same way'. In this time that was less than two weeks, she started having a soft spot for the person in front of her, so it was very hard for her to tell him no.

"Fine, I will give this a chance. But no more than a month. I have to talk to my parents as well. Also you have to treat me better, not as a servant and I want to be properly courted, deserving of my worth." If I have to stay here for more than a month, I have to at least enjoy the time I will be spending here.

"Oh but of course my queen. And that treatment starts now." While saying that, he walked towards her and picked her up bridal style. She let out a small shriek as she wrapped her hands around his neck for support. When she looked at those olive colored eyes, her heart skipped a beat. Erick looked at her and gave her a handsome smile along with a wink. Like that, the Frisbee was forgotten about and they went towards the castle.

One month later .

"Hello father, I called to tell you that I... have fallen in love with the Aruzian prince." She cringed as she said the 'l' word. Never in her life did she think she would use that word.

"Really my baby?" Michael asked on the other end of the line with his tone high-pitched.

"Yes father. But, I have an issue, if I have to marry him, doesn't he have the right to know that I am an Avalonian fairy?"

"Elayna, listen to me when I say this, you are to never tell him that you are a fairy. You do not know the power that the fear of the unknown holds. Believe me when I say this." His tone turned serious.
