~1 week time jump!~

"Clay, you know how I took you shopping for that very fancy tuxedo?" You say running a hand through his hair.
"Yes, I'm assuming you are going to tell me what I need it for?" He says looking up.
"We are going ballroom dancing tonight." You smile.
"I don't know how-" Clay started.
You press a finger to his lips, "Who said you couldn't learn? It's nothing professional, just don't be an idiot and you'll be fine."
"That's kinda hard for me," Clay smiles.
"Well we need to be there in 2 hours so we should probably get ready." You pull your hair out of its bun.

~1 hour later~

You had taken your shower and so had Clay. You were fixing your makeup and hair.

"I have to ask why I needed such a fancy green tux." Clay questions.
"It's to honor you, but I don't think we want to show up in lime green." You wrinkle your face.
"Well it's not all about me, I have to think about my princess too." He looks at your large smile.

Clay finished pulling his overcoat on as you walked out. He didn't say anything as his eyes traced every part of your body. You were wearing a floor length, mermaid style, emerald green dress. You had on heels to match.

"How did I get so lucky?" Clay says, walking over and placing hands on your hips.
Smiling, you straighten his tie, "You flatter me boy."
He smirks, "Will we get out pictures taken there? You are too gorgeous not to document."
"Of course, and you will be in those pictures too. I'm not whole without my half." You say leaning up for a kiss.

You and Clay drive to the Madison Ballroom in downtown. You both stepped out of the car and walked in. The area that you would be dancing was gorgeous, and so were the couples around you. There were floor to ceiling windows that captured the sky and skyline. The lights were dimmed but it cast a warm glow across the entire space. A photographer approached you two.

"You two are one of the best i've seen tonight! I need a picture!" The lady says with enthusiasm.
You and Clay smile and agree. You placed a hand on his check, he had a hand on your waist. In the last picture Clay lifted your chin to look at him with a finger.

"I would love to have those pictures," Clay says after thanking the photographer.
"Of course! I mean who wouldn't want to commemorate this perfect moment!" She said, giving out her business card.

Soon it was announced that the dancing would begin. The couples all crowded to the center started swaying. Everyone was in unison, it was a hypnotic scene of glittering dresses as the lights dimmed. The songs were fairly fast paced as you and Clay fell into a classic step together.

"You have got the hang of it!" You whisper with excitement
"I guess it's because I have such a good partner." Clay looks at you with admiration.

Clay spins you, and you return to him resting your head on his chest. You could hear his heartbeat, in sync with yours. You continued to move with the rest of the group as they all moved along the dance floor. As the music continued, though, couples started to go to the side and watch. The last song of the night came on. It was a slowed version of the modern song Best part. The moonlight cast on to you and Clay as you swayed gently back and forth. You looked up at him. He had hands around your waist, yours were at his neck. The pure moonlight illuminated the freckles on his face. You had never noticed them before.

"You look so precious when you stare at me like that." Clay smiled.
"I'm looking at your cute freckles." You continue to study him.

He pulls you closer. In these moments as the song lulled on, no one else was there. It was just you and Clay. Swaying in the moonlight. Nothing could happen in that moment to make it any less perfect than it was. His warm hands placed gently on your waist, your bodies pressed together. Your chin on his sternum looking at him in his deep emerald eyes. You placed hands on the sides of his face, gently stroking his cheeks with your thumbs. There was almost an electric feel drawing you two together and keeping you close. He leaned down and pressed his lips on yours.

"I'm so glad we did this together." You say.
"Me too." Clay leans you down into a kiss as the song slows to its end.

Later that evening Clay called you over. He got the pictures. You almost cried. You both looked so in love with each other. The looks you both had in your eyes smiling at the camera, then at each other. You rested your head on Clay's shoulder as you studied the picture where he was holding your chin with a finger. You couldn't read Clay's emotions, but he was staying paused on the same picture.

"I can't believe we aren't married." He says shyly.
"Give it some time, you will know if i'm the girl and if it's the right moment." You kiss him on the cheek and pull him to bed.

You fell asleep in his arms.
