Without you, I'll never be home

Based on a verse from a song 'Share My Adress' by Ben Platt

Drew and Rick haven't moved in together yet and are still getting used to being together.

I wanna be your emergency contact
You can put me down
'Cause you know I know you best (I know you best)
It doesn't matter where I go
Without you, I'll never be home

Drew rolled over in bed and smiled, seeing Rick lay next to him. He knew from that second in his life he wanted to share the rest of his life with the man asleep beside him

Later that day, Rick was sat at the dining room table staring at hi phone, a look of confusion and concern on his face.

"What's up?" Drew asked, kissing his cheek and placing a cup of coffee in front of his boyfriend.

"I have to fill in my 'In Case of Emergency' part of my phone before I go on duty tomorrow, a new protocol in place. Only problem is, now my mom hates me and my dad's not around, I don't exactly have an emergency contact." Rick explained, taking the hand Drew offerend him across the table and squeezing it.

"I want to be your emergency contact. You can put me down, you know I'm the one who knows you best."

"But-"

"I know it's too soon, too fast. But this could last. It feels different to any other relationship I've been in, Rick. I love you, so please trust me enough to be that person they call if - god forbid - something happened to you."

"I do trust you, I was gonna say 'but you're never awake when I'm on shift,' this is a rare treat to be able to relax with you, at your place."

"One, do you think that matters to me, that I'd be woken up? Two, I was gonna ask about that. Do you want to move in together?"
