Bexley Sallow was unusual and not in a 'ew she's weird' type of way. Just a 'I don't really want to be friends with her' type a way.
She grew up in Canada on the coast always believing in reality for the most part. Her parents were both doctors and never really had time for her so she learned how to do a lot of things on her own. Her family had money but, money can never replace a parents embrace.
So it was quiet a shock for her when one day the door bell rang.
"Are you expecting anyone mom?" She yelled from the living room. She had gotten up and made her way to the door.
"No." Her mom had yelled back.
She opened the doors and her eyes widened. In front of her stood a big burly man. "Hello, Bexley Sallow, right? You are to come with me at once!" This strange man ordered her.
Bexley had never seen this man in her life yet he was demanding her to come with him? What the hell? Her mom had come around from the kitchen by this time.
"You must be Hagrid. Take her. I have packed her things already they are in a suitcase to your left." Her mother instructed the man.
Bexley started to shake with anger and confusion. "What do you mean mother? I am not going with a stranger!"
"Bexley, you are going to a special boarding school! Your father and I cannot handle your magical outbursts anymore just like my mother could not handle your aunties." She explained calmly whilst giving Hagrid Bexley's suitcase.
Suddenly everything started to make more sense to Bexley and she knew almost exactly what her mother was talking about yet she couldn't help to feel slightly betrayed for not getting warning that this was going to happen.
Hagrid took the small girls suitcase and led her out of her home and into a black limousine. And here she thought they were going to fly there on a broomstick. She laughed to herself at the thought. This whole situation is crazy.
They reached the Vancouver airport and they boarded a plane to London, England and that is when Hagrid spoke to her. "This may be really different for you." She rolled her eyes in secret. "Just because everyone speaks different compared to you Canadian accent." Yes that was the crazy part Hagrid. "We usually only take children from Scotland, England and Ireland but, your parents insisted and we obliged. Plus you would be joining as a 15 year old which also may be odd..." Hagrid goes on.
She decided to not be rude to this stranger as he was only doing his job. "That's great." Was what she decides to reply with. And she decides not to correct him with her age. She was actually 16.
Hagrid and her get off the plan and he grabs her luggage. "Do you not have a pet?" He asks her to make conversation.
She lights up a little bit. "A dog. Named Lucifer. Hes a mutt." She tells him.
Hagrid looks a little shocked at the name choice but quickly forgets it as he notices the time. "Okay so I am going to drop you off at the train, all your things that you need for school are in your luggage. You can change into your school robe once you have boarded the train as it is in your luggage." Bexley nods after this.
Bexley admires the smoking train in front of her and quickly jumps on. Someone had already taken her luggage. She sits in an empty carriage and closes the glass doors. Her head rests on the window until a girl rudely comes in.
"Sorry to interrupt, all the other carriages are full. May I sit here?" The girl looked around Bexleys age and she had shoulder length brown hair with a tinge of orange in it. She looked friendly enough.
"Take a seat i'm Bexley." Bexley pushes her black hair out of her eyes to get a better look at this girl.
"Perfect! I'm Heidi, its a pleasure to meet you. I have never seen you before." She states rather confused. "What house do you belong in?"
Bexley knows what she is talking about from the stories her aunt tells her. "I don't belong to any. I'm new."
Heidi looks pretty shocked from hearing this. "That is odd." She mumbles in a thick British accent making it obvious where she is from. "Are your parents wizards?" Heidi asks.
Bexley looks at her. "No they are human."
Heidi suddenly becomes quiet overjoyed from hearing this. "Mine are the same! My great grandfather carries the wizard gene. But just a warning a couple people at school do not like people like us because we aren't 'pure blood'". Heidi shares this piece of information with Bexley and Bexley's stomach churns a little. She had forgotten that this school she was going to hosted 1000 other students.
"Good to know."
