A pair of socked feet danced through the hallways of Stark Tower on a late Friday afternoon. They moved up and down the cold floors to the beat of an old love song pumping through a set of headphones. The dancer held a half-eaten slice of pizza in one hand and an invisible microphone in the other.
Taylor wound up in the living room the team shared. She flopped onto the couch backwards, scrolling through her music. When she was satisfied with the tune, she wiggled her shoulders against the seat of the couch to the beat of the drums pounding in her ears. She waited for the beat to drop to take the last bite of her pizza and dust the crumbs off her fingers.
She rested her arms behind her head and propped her feet up on the arm of the couch. She shut her eyes to listen to the words closer and bobbed her head up and down. In doing this, Taylor was oblivious to the footsteps running towards her.
An excited Wanda Maximoff poked her head over the top of the couch with a wide smile. The witch shook Taylor's shoulder, nearly making her jump and throw the headphones off her head. Taylor paused the song and looked up at her friend who had the widest, toothy grin she had ever seen plastered on her face.
"Jeez, Wanda! 'Hello' usually works too, ya know."
"Does Tony know?" She cut right to the chase, ignoring the little quip.
Taylor furrowed her brows. "Does Tony know what? I'm all for keeping things from him because it's really funny, but I'd like to know what first."
"About you and Peter?"
Ah, yes, of course. The one thing she hoped Wanda wouldn't bring up.
"What about me and Peter?"
Wanda nearly squealed in excitement and the smile managed to grow. "So it's true?"
"I don't know what youre talking about."
"Yes you do! God, you and Stark are such awful liars."
Natasha walked into the room and shook her head at Wanda practically bouncing off the walls. "I told her not to get so excited, sorry."
Taylor shrugged her shoulders in an attempt to blow it off. The agent walked across the room to join Taylor on the couch. Wanda followed and sat down on the floor in front of them.
"So," Natasha began, quirking an eyebrow and smirking, "you and Parker, huh?"
Secretly, Natasha loved the high school drama. Her life practically revolved around being an Avenger and making up for her past. This almost made it seem normal, just girl-talk about the boys they liked. She never got to experience any of this growing up, so she welcomed it now.
She rolled her eyes. "How did you guys even know about that?"
"Tony put a camera in your room."
Taylor's mouth fell open and her eyes furrowed. "Ew, he did what?"
"Not to spy on you while you sleep or anything. It's pointed at the window to make sure no one gets in. Or in your case, out again."
"So does he know?" she worried. "I mean, it's been a week. He had to have watched the cameras by now."
"I doubt it. You would know if he did."
Wanda's smile returned. "So you two are together!"
Taylor ducked her head into her lap to conceal the giddy smile she got whenever she thought of him and nodded. "Well, we're still sorting things out. But I definitely like him. I think I have for a while and just didn't realize. It's weird."
The two agreed to keep things on the down-low while they were still figuring out where they were. In the meantime, they spent a lot of time at Peter's apartment just hanging out, more than usual. What they were both experiencing was new and they were just trying to enjoy the feeling.
