Breathless, The Doctor ducks into an old-timey looking bar, of course knowing her luck this could be an up to date bar and her timing was off! She was tracking a suspicious signal that she had spotted after dropping the Fam off for one of their family days, she struggles to understand why they would rather stay on earth when she could literally take them back to a second after they left last time but hey at least they have a house, maybe one day she should get one? Anyway, matter at hand. Where, or rather when, are we. She glanced around the bar, a newspaper lay on the coffee table to the right, 2019 it read. Good, she was correct, and this was an outdated quiet spot, she sat down on the only slightly lumpy sofa and looked closely at the name of the newspaper. "The Cardiff Times" it read in bold cursive lettering. With a sigh, she realised that the signal had been unusual but then again, what was ever usual in Cardiff.

Something she knew is that although Torchwood had been destroyed in the "Terror Attack" she could be almost certain that a particular Ex Time Agent would be behind this suspicious signal. Following her wave scrambler device she whipped up by strapping some spoons to some previous incarnations Timey Wimey thingy. Now it worked on earth frequencies. However, it only seems to give a rough location then it goes on the fritz, which is was prone to do. Quite often.

The city had decided that it was best to rebuild the water tower in the same place, and once UNIT had cleared the area of any "chemical contaminants" of course.

Walking towards the monument, The Doctor was confused, the place that previously was the Torchwood hub had not been rebuilt, sure the monument was there. However, The Doctor pulled out her screwdriver and pointed it at the ground underneath the tower and checked the results. There was nothing there, just solid concrete. She walked all around that tower and found nothing no sign of any wiggy wavy things on her screen. "I'm either too close or miles away," she thought. Frustrated, she decided to go back to the bar to have a drink and think about what to do next.

The Doctor walked in and took up a seat at the bar. She noticed that there wasn't many people in the bar. Wondering why, she turned to tell the bartender what she was drinking when a familiar face stopped her head halfway.

"What you drinking, darling?"

There he was, the man of the hour, or she guessed, every hour. Sat in the seat next her was Captain Jack Harkness. She smiled, bright and wide.

"Just some coke, I love the bubbles, but I forgot my special straw so I've just got normal bubbles today. My special straw adds fizz you see." she told him, animatedly.

Jack smiled, or was that a smirk, she wasn't sure.

"Not up for the hard stuff" he said with a wink, just like Jack to know she would never back down for a challenge

"Are you buying? Also, stop flirting that never works with me" she replies knowing that even a hello is Jack flirting.

Jack turned to the bartender, who he had already noticed was named Amie, which clearly had nothing to do with the placement of her badge.

"Two scotch on the rocks please, sweetheart", much like this stunning little lady he loved a challenge and by trying to get him to back off, it only enticed him more, with her quirky dress sense and her clear love of talking he was more than interested.

As quick as Amie handed them the glasses, The Doctor's were empty.

"Oh I forgot how much this burns, it's like swallowing molten lava from the earth's core" The Doctor complained, she hadn't consumed any alcohol in her new body yet and was looking forward to exploring it all with a trusted friend there to help.
