Niall's POV.

I quietly shut the front door and slowly started to make my way to my room.

''Honey, are you okay?'' My mom asked with a worried look on her face. I didn't even notice her sitting on the kitchen table.

''Y-Yeah. It's all good...'' I answered.

''Okay, then why are you home so early, mister?'' She questioned.

Awh Hell...

''I-I...We got early realase!'' I lied.

She chuckled. ''Oh, Niall. You really think I'm that dumb?''

Well, at least I tried.

My mom pointed at an empty chair opposite to the one she was sitting in. ''Sit, we need to talk, Dear.'' She commanded.

I decided to not cause any more troubleproblems so I sat down and let out a long sigh.

''Niall, you've been acting very...different.'' She said. ''And I know that we just moved from Ireland and it's probably very hard on you dear, but this is not normal. You've been distant, forgetful and I barely see you any more... If something is happening please tell me.'' Her face started to fill with worry.

It took me a second to process everything... I can't believe my mom feels this way. I've been thinking about myself too much lately. Even if I don't think she's my actual mother I still feel very close to her. Maybe it's because she didn't change at all... ''Mum, I'm sorry if I have made you feel this way. It's just me trying to get used to this place that's all...'' I didn't lie this time. These were my actual feelings. ''Look, there's a lot of things going on in my life right now, but I don't want you to feel responsible for it in any way.'' I admitted.

''What's going on then?'' My mom asked me with concern.

''Uh, nothing interesting!. Just dealing with feelings and all that stuff... You know, the usual.'' I said.

My mom gave me a knowing look. ''Oooh... So that's what it is. You like someone, don't you?'' She smirked.

I turned my head away. ''N-No! It's not that.'' I lied. It was something like that, but I wasn't ready to tell her yet. How could I tell my mother this?

She laughed. ''Oh Niall, you had me so worried for a second there!''

''M-Mom it's not that!'' I insisted.

''Awh! stop blushing'' She pinched my cheek. ''Now who is it?'' My mom asked with curiosity.

''No one...'' I said in a low tone.

''Come on, sweetie! Who's the lucky girl?'' She waited patiently for my response.

I had my head down in shame. The longer I stared at the ground the faster my moms smile faded away.

''Niall...'' My mom tried to look at my eyes. ''Sweetie, what's going on?'' She stood up from her chair and walked over to me.

She got down on her knees and placed her index finger below my chin to lift my head up.

A tear sled out of my eye.

''M-Mom... I-I think It's a boy...'' I said.

''Oh, honey...'' My mom hugged me tightly.

Her eyes were getting watery. ''I want you to know that I'm so proud of you, Niall. I don't care if you like a girl or a boy or a chair or a plant or whatever you like! I will always be your mother and I'll be there for you. I won't let anyone hurt my baby.'' Her voice cracked.
