It's been two weeks since Sila was discharged from hospital in all this time Shafiya was with her like a shadow. She was taking care of Sila as well as her house; Sila was numb for some days and was having nightmares related to the accident. She was mentally wrecked that she didn't see her mother and husband for the last time. She was very upset but she has to do something, she can't just sit home and do nothing throwing everything at her best friend.
After so many torturous days and painful nights crying and mourning, she was ready to face the world and fight this battle like a brave woman her mother and Haroon wanted her to be. She has a degree and will be able to get a decent job at any business corporation but she lacks experience. She sighed tiredly surrounded by numerous newspapers and Shafiya's laptop that she burrowed to look for any job interview advertisement. Shafiya had already done enough for her and she will not burden her friend more.
Shafiya came from grocery shopping, she saw Sila sitting on the floor surrounded by many newspapers, markers, and her laptop. She raised her eyebrows and coughed falsely to her attention. Sila was so absorbed in her work that she didn't see Shafiya coming. She smiled weakly in response to her questioning gaze and patted the cushion for her to come and sit.
"What are you doing Sila bear with all these things?" Shafiya asked confusedly as she sat beside Sila with confusion on her face.
"I was looking for a job... And before you start lecturing me about you being enough for me and I don't have to do any work please don't Shafu... I am not a porcelain doll that you have to handle with extreme care... I won't broke down with little things" Sila spoke with a broken smile. Shafiya holds her hand and caressed it as Sila again speaks.
"I know you love me and what you have done for me... I will always be indebted to you... But now I have to stand up and live the life this is my test and I have to go through it... You being with me, beside me was enough for me and I know you will always support me and love me" she said smiling and tears flowing down her cheeks. Shafiya was also crying, she nodded her head and engulfed her best friend cum sister in a tight bear hug. Sila reciprocates her hug, thanking Her Lord for giving her such an amazing friend and praying to help her pass this test with patience and faith.
"I am so proud of you Sila bear... So proud, you have made the right choice. They will be so proud and happy with your decision" Shafiya spoke with happy tears in her eyes. After their heart to heart, they looked for an appropriate job together. They found a decent job interview advertisement for the finance department; they made the call and get an appointment for her interview at Shah Industries. They were happy and planned to treat themselves with pizza. Tomorrow was a new start for her; she prayed this new turn in her life will lead her to the right destination.
