TW : slight suicidal thoughts + small mention of anxiety attacks.
changmin was tired of waiting. he was tired of waiting for this all to be over, to wake up from this real-life nightmare. he felt dizzy, as if he would faint and never wake up to see the light of day again. but at this point, isnt that what he wanted?
changmin wanted out. he didnt care where he left to, but he wanted out. it felt like the walls were closing in on him, making it hard for him to breathe. it felt like his lungs couldnt work anymore, like they were closing in as well. everything was closing in on him.
his vision was going blurry and it was blackening at the edges, much like vintage photographs he had seen in history textbooks. slowly, the black began closing in exactly like everything. and then, he couldnt breathe, his eyes closing as he slumped against the cold walls.
when he woke up, the first thing he saw was chanhee. he looked shocked and worried, his hand resting on the younger's shoulder.
"chanhee, what time is it?" changmin sounded excited for someone who just woke up from passing out with a stabbing headache. did it finally pass? did he find a way to make it through chanhee's death, and now he was alive? was everything okay?
"its... two pm." chanhee sounded confused, but he didnt understand the excitement that changmin felt. only for a short time, though, seeing as chanhee would usually die at three pm exactly. his hopes were crushed yet again.
"oh, okay." changmin sounded vulnerable, but what could you expect after his hopes built upwards to the point where they tipped over and he would have to start all over again?
"hey, you like the beach, right? lets go there, itll help clear your mind." apparently changmin had no choice, because chanhee was already dragging him up and out the door. not like he minded, he would take all the contact he could get before chanhee was gone again.
and here they were, their feet dangling over the pier as changmin tried to comfort the older.
"its alright, hee, ill wait as long as i have to for you to be comfortable, we can go back if you want." his arms were wrapped around him, and changmin noticed that chanhee no longer commented on the marks across his arms. maybe its because he stopped adding them.
"no, we're doing this, because youve always wanted to and im not gonna ruin that for you, okay?" chanhee had always been more considerate of others than he should be. maybe not as much as jacob, but still too much for his own good.
changmin never noticed the group of teenage boys behind them, nasty smirks grown across their lips as one of them crouched down, putting his lips to the shell of chanhee's ear. okay, maybe he noticed then, because that boy was awfully close to his chanhee for someone the neither of them knew.
"then jump in, pussy." changmin's face went red as chanhee was pushed. what he did next, he would never forgive himself for it, because he had the chance to save him, the chance to make all of this end, but instead his rage-filled mind had slapped the boy across the face. he deserved that slap though, he really did.
chanhee was dying, his head had hit the rocks without changmin noticing and he was slipping into the water. when changmin turned around, he saw his body, but the water was clear at that moment. he questioned if he was making at least a little bit of progress, but no.
the water around chanhee was turning red with the blood that those god damn teenagers caused to spill from him. he didnt care if they were still behind him, he would shout either way.
"you fucking murders! do you know what you just did? ive been trying to save him for so many fucking days, and the once chance we get to enjoy our time, you fucking ruin it? you monsters! you creatures from hell! you do not deserve to live life on this earth!" those boys were no longer there.
