Mirai Balkon Room Appartments - first floor, Dining Hall
Aoi was sitting in a chair eating donuts and drinking tea. There were many other people in the dining hall with her having their lunch aswell. As soon as she saw Phoenix and Maya she waved them over to her. They enganged into a conversation.
"Great that you are here, guys" the Athlete said with joy in her voice. "I found a flyer for this appartment building. It gives you all the info you need about the complex, I think." The flyer was a sort of advertisment to convince people to move in. The Mirai Balkon Room Appartments greatest feature was that every appartment was only one room and a bathroom. The rooms come with simple furniture such as a bed a desk, low table and chair as well as a small shelving unit. However there is no kitchen. "Why would there be no kitchen?" Maya asked confused. "The reason is this dining hall right here." the female tenant explained. "There is a big kitchen right over there there." Aoi pointed to a big double door with round windows. "That's almost like a Hotel then, Isn't it?" Phoenix thought out loud. Aoi answered him: "There is a small team of chefs who work up a small menu every week, but the tenants are allowed to cook for themselves aswell."
Continuing on with the pamphlet about the appartment complex; It showed several blueprits for the layout. There were 6 floors and a basement. On the first floor are a laundry room, the dining hall and kitchen, as well as an office space for all the staff. The basement featured the trash room with its own trash incinerator and a storage rooms for the tenants. At the end the flyer gave some further notes about the buildings features:
- Soundproof rooms
- Lock-picking-proof locks
- Power comes from eco friendly sources & the basement incinoration
- Garden on the rooftop
- Cafeteria/ Dining hall is closed from 10 PM - 6 AM
- No water on nighttime.
"This concept of living doesn't seem too half bad" Phoenix commented. "Yeah" Maya said. "Like you said before, It's almost like a hotel." Aoi explained: "This building has like it's own community because of the way it works. I'm sure that Mirai Appartments will build more of these." Phoenix was very happy with how this investigation was proceeding "Thank you for the pamphlet, Ms. Asahina. It will definetly come in handy." with that he bid the athlete goodbye.

Mirai Balkon Room Appartments - Floor 1, dining hall kitchen
Since Sayaka had been stabbed with a kitchen knife and Makoto's room didn't have anything resembling a kitchen Phoenix wanted to scope out the dining hall kitchen for any missing knifes. There in the kitchen he and Maya met a small chubby chef with a particularly strange hairdo, who was working there. Besides the white chef uniform he wore a red scarf bound in a way which makes it resemble a tie and a red apron with a faint geometric symbol on it. The tiny man also had a tiny chef hat on his head which seemed like it could fall off at any moment. The chubby guy was Teruteru Hanamura, one of the workers of the Building. "Hey, have you guys seen a kitchen knife around here somewhere?" He asked them cautiously. "Since this morning one of the knifes here has been missing. My boss won't really like it if something went missing..." Teruteru was sweating a lot as he said that.
There was a magnetic knife holder on the wall with a noticable gap in the row of knives. Phoenix told the worried chef about how the missing knife had been used for murder. The chubby guy was shocked to hear that his favorite Idol had been killed but was also extremely worried if he could ever get that knife back or who would compensate for it if it wouldn't be given back to the kitchen.
Phoenix left the chef to his devices and decided to go back and ask Aoi about the afternoon before the murder, perhaps she knew something that could help him.
