shinra was utterly perplexed, that's a fact. even though a day has passed ever since he found himself in a similarly strange neighborhood, he doesn't seem to get a hold of it. he tried to go with the flow, but even his own plans were backfiring on him. what did he just get himself into?

"oi, shinra, the food's not gonna make its own way to your mouth, you know? eat up, you brat." (y/n), who was sitting across the black-haired male, snarled towards him as she ate her own breakfast, but shinra didn't reply nor budge. his mind was completely away from his body due to his current situation.

with a sigh, the (h/c)nette gulped her food down her throat before she purposely jabbed a fork on the wooden table, the untensil's teeth completely sinking on the surface's material, which caused shinra to swallow his own saliva due to both surprise and fear. man. she's scarier than the lieutenant.

(y/n) clicked her tounge and spoke. "just eat the damn food already. you're lucky that i even make your meals for you. do you think i'm some kind of killer that'll poison you or something?"

she resumed with her food right after the set of sentences she said, but still, instead of following her orders, shinra just stared at her, this time with an eyebrow raised whilst his features displayed nothing but pure curiosity and suspicion.

"well, frankly speaking, i do think so."
"eat or i'll shove that down your throat."
"... there's no poison in this, right?"
"of course not, you big dummy!"

shinra was taken aback with (y/n)'s sudden yell towards him, making him fall on his back with the backrest of the chair he was sitting on as a support. "ow!"

"serves you right." she scoffed and teasingly chuckled.

he rolled his eyes and settled himself back on his seat and after what seemed to be a very difficult task to convince him to fill his belly, he finally gave (y/n)'s food a taste. nevertheless, he still opened his mouth for him to talk to her. "have you ever thought that a man can actually cook much better than you?" he asked.

she lowered her head and placed her spoon on her plate, aligning it with her chopsticks, but she wasn't trying to be a perfectionist at the very moment. as soon as her blank (e/c) orbs landed on the stainless chopsticks she had and to shinra's fiery hues, a frown crept up her lips. "if you have a problem with the food i'm making for you then spit it out, dumbass. there's definitely a lot of selfish people around here who'll feed you such delicious food." she grumbled sarcastically before rolling her eyes.

shinra got the signal from her words, yet he decided not to mock her anymore and let out a small chuckle. "thanks for the food, anyway. you're much more tolerable than arthur. i like those type of people."

hearing this, (y/n) scoffed once more and stood on her chair as she dramatically flipped her hair. "who doesn't like me, though? i mean, come on! i'm amazing!"

i spoke too soon. shinra thought and sighed.

"i take it back. you're as annoying as arthur."
"you know what, the door's open, so leave."
"i was just kidding, (y/n)."

not wanting to hear any of his excuses, (y/n) crossed her arms together and continued to eat and so did he, yet she started to stuff her mouth with her food due to irritation. arthur this, arthur that. what? is he in love? she said inside her mind, and that's when a light bulb lit above her head. the idea got her excited, so she gulped on the food in her mouth and heavily slammed both her hands on the table, which created a loud noise and just by hearing how loud and shocking it was, shinra nearly choke.

"wha– stop surprising me, will you!?"
"shinra! do me a favor, alright!?"
"what is it now!?"

smiling, she answered. "familiarize me, shinra."
