This is gunna be short! I can't handle angst very well.. remember, requests are open! I'm running outa ideas and you guys are my best hope! This is going to be a sad one so if you get too sad easily I wouldn't suggest this. Okay... here we go..

P.S: this is an old draft, so the writing isn't the best.

'I love you.'

Those were the last words he told you after graduation, before you moved away and slowly drifted apart.

Kou and you were very close friends. You had grown feelings for him early on in befriending him. He felt the same.
Unfortunately, you only mustered up the courage to confess the day before your plain ride out of Japan.

~Flash back~

You knock on the Minamoto residents door nervously.

The door opens and reveals the smiling face of Teru Minamoto.

"Hi l/n. Here to talk to Kou I assume?" He asks, smiling.

"Yeah.." you say, laughing softly with a smile.

"Okay, I'll call him. One second." Teru turns to call for his brother "Oh, you're already there." Teru laughs.

Kou takes Teru's place at the door, Tiara on his shoulders "Hi y/n!" Kou greets you.

"Hello Kou," you look up at the little girl on his shoulders "Hi hi Tiara!" You greet them, giggling softly at Kou's sweetness with his sister.

"Hi hi y/n!!" Tiara greets excitedly.

"I'm glad you could come and see me before you left." Kou tells you, saddening as he speaks.

"Yeah... can I speak with you?" You ask.

"Yeah! Wanna go to the park to talk?"

"Sure."

He puts Tiara down "I'm gonna go out with y/n. Go play with Teru, okay?"

"Okay!" She agrees before running off in search of her oldest sibling.

~Time Skip~

You and Kou are sitting under a small gazebo you found farther into the park. Rain clouds start to form above you, but the gazebo can shelter you from the rain, so you didn't worry. There weren't many people around, and if there were any, they were leaving at the sight of the storm clouds.

"So what do you wanna tell me?" He asks, smiling at you.

You blush lightly "Uh.. I.. um.."

Kou gives you a confused look.

You clear your throat "Kou, we've been friends for a long time.. but I don't fully think of you as just a friend... I've had a crush on you for a long time but I never had the confidence to tell you..."

He smiles sweetly "Y/n... I feel the same way.."

"Really...?"

"Yeah. You're an amazing person y/n.."

"Th-thanks.... I'm so sorry. I don't want to leave." You explain, your voice breaking a bit.

You feel an uncomfortable lump begin to form in your throat.

"It's okay. We'll video call every day until we can meet again. You need your education to get your dream job.. it'll be fine." He says sweetly, taking your hand, though you could see tears forming in his eyes.

"Okay."

He cups your cheeks, tilting his head a bit. His eyes flash down to your lips a bit, asking for permission. You leaned in and kissed him quickly, not wanting to wait any longer. You tilt your head and deepen the kiss. He pulls you closer, sighing contently into the kiss. He then seemingly becomes a bit more confident, as he gets hungrier with the kiss. You shuddered a bit, but quickly match him.

The kiss seemed to go on forever before you pulled away from each other.

You look away from him, and at the now pouring rain outside of the gazebo "I'm so sorry Kou."

He lightly turns your head back to face his "It's okay. Remember, I'll wait for you."

~Time skip~

The rain had stopped and the sky was now clear. Kou had walked you home so you could say your final goodbyes.

He squeezed your hand comfortingly, trying to reassure you.

You look down at your feet "I really wish I didn't have to go.."

"I know, but I want you to live your dreams. I'll be here."

You stay silent.

"I love you.." he whispered.

You were about to say it back, but your mom called you from in the house "Y/n! Come on!"

"Coming mom!" You yelled back.

You look back at Kou, but he ushered you to go.
You went.

That was the last time you ever saw him.

Your flight was early the next morning.
