I yawned slightly, covering my mouth with my hand as I walked into the little coffee shop that sat on the corner of the street where my apartment resided. I smiled happily as I walked up to the counter. A young woman no older than 30 smiled back at me. "Hey Y/N! Here for your morning hot chocolate?" She asked peppily. I laughed sheepishly and nodded, scratching the back of my neck gently.

"Am I really that predictable?" I asked jokingly as the woman punched some things into the register. She smirked at me and nodded, calling out my order as I handed her the money. "You come in here every day Y/N and you always get the same thing." We both laughed and said my order at the same time.

"A hot chocolate with double whipped cream and a chocolate chip cookie." I chuckled quietly and looked at her. "Your drink will be ready in a few minutes Y/N. Feel free to take a seat at a table." She said, smiling at me. "Thank you Laura." I said, walking over to my normal booth next to the window.

I waited for a few minutes and I smiled when Laura walked over to my table with a steaming cup of hot chocolate in her hands. "Here you are Y/N! Your cup of coco." She handed me the mug and gave me a straw, placing my cookie down on the table as well.

I smiled and thanked her happily. "Thank you Laura!" She bowed deeply and giggled quietly. "You are quite welcome Y/N! Now, I really must get back to my job. If you need anything, just let me know okay?" She stood up and smiled. I nodded and shooed her off.

I was quietly eating my cookie when I heard the little bell above the door ring. I looked up and tilted my head when I saw a monster walk through the door. He looked very colorful with the colors on his sash and his color changing eye-lights. He smiled and walked up to the counter. As he finished ordering, he looked around for a place to sit.

There were no empty tables and when he looked at me, I put my head down, blushing lightly. A few moments later, I heard some footsteps and I looked up to see the brightly smiling skeleton. "Good morning mam! I was wondering if I could sit here because there are no other empty tables..." He said shyly, scratching the back of his neck.

I smiled and nodded, pointing to the other bench. "I don't mind at all! Please, take a seat!" He let out a relieved sigh and sat down, smiling at me. "Thank you so much. My name is Ink! What's yours?" He asked, reaching his hand across the table to shake mine. I tilted my head and thought, 'Ink? What a peculiar name!'

I smiled and gently grasped his hand, lightly shaking it. "It's no trouble at all Ink. My name is Y/N and it's a pleasure to meet you!" I responded, taking my hand back once he enthusiastically shook my hand. "Stars Y/n, you have such a pretty name!" I blushed lightly and chuckled quietly.

"Why thank you! Now, what are you doing here in this small town?" He smiled and began to eagerly talk. "I just wanted a change of pace from the big city so I decided to come here!" I smiled. "And how are you liking it here?" "It's so different from the city! It has so many beautiful flowers that I was inspired to paint! Do you want to see one?" He asked.

I chuckled quietly. "Sure, why not?" He quickly grabbed out his phone and turned it on, flipping through a few photos before turning the phone around and eagerly showing it to me. "Isn't it pretty?" I marveled at it for a few moments, smiling brightly. "It's beautiful Ink! You're a really great painter!

He chuckled quietly and put his phone in his pocket. "Thank you. So," He turned back to me, "How long have you lived here?" I smiled and tried to remember the few months. "I moved in about 2 months ago."
