Back to Normal?

I'm using the last of my internet connection to write this. Usually this would come out tomorrow, but my plans have been foiled. So here is this short but important chapter! I hope you enjoy!

Cross's POV

"Hey Ink!" I greeted my long time friend. Nightmare doesn't know that I still talk with Ink. I like working for Nightmare, but I also still enjoy my and Ink's chats.^^

I sit down next to Ink, he starts the conversation first. "So, anything new?" He asked. I respond, "Not anything that I can think of..... everything has been normal..." I think back to the events that have happened today, "Wait, I happened to notice that Underswap hasn't been reset yet, isn't that odd? Oh, and Nightmare and Error were talking about something confusing this morning, but that's it." Ink looks worried, "Wait, what do you mean that Underswap hasn't reset yet? What timeline did just do?" Ink asks. I respond, "From the looks of it, it was a genocide run."

Ink's Pov

Is that why he wasn't at the meeting earlier this week? .........

But that in itself isn't weird, what's weird is that the timeline hasn't reset yet. Usually Chara would reset it by now.... wait a darn second, "Why were you in Underswap?" I asked Cross. "Well, I usually go there when we have to go grocery shopping since it's a pretty friendly place. This time I wasn't able to pay though. Since, y'know, there was no one there to give money to..." Cross answered.

It's weird that they pay, you'd think that Nightmare wouldn't care enough to give the team money to get food, where would they get money anyway?

"Moving on from that, what was the other thing that you said?" I asked. Cross shrugs his shoulders then answers, "Nightmare and Error were taking about this new prisoner. The whole conversation was just unusual in general. Especially since it sounded like Nightmare was going to interrogate them personally."

Another prisoner? How can Cross say that like it's not unusual? Like it's not something a villain would do?

"Oh really? What did they say about this prisoner?" I asked totally normally. Cross shrugged again, "They didn't say much, Error just said that he talked with prisoner and Nightmare wanted to hear about the information he learned. It's just really weird because they used her name like they were talking about a friend, or at least someone with higher status than prisoner." Cross answered.

I guess that is odd.

Sorry Cross, but I need to free them.
