After months of carefully and strategically planned emotional blackmailing and guilt tripping, Katsuki had finally made Kiyoomi agree to adoption. It's not like Katsuki doesn't know how hard it is to raise a baby and that he is putting himself and his husband incharge of a living breathing tiny human being that can't do anything on its on aside from basic body functions and sometimes even for that they require help. Katsuki's aware that this is a very big deal and it's absolutely not like getting a pet. But he's ready, he just knows he's ready. Katsuki has never been more sure.
Both Sakusa's had come to a mutual decision on which orphanage they'll be going to, they had gone through many children record and meetings, and each child had left Katsuki's shrinking a little with pity even if he tried his best not to feel it. The orphanage was a good one the children there were well taken care of, properly fed and educated. The Sakusa's had decided to adopt the most recent child that had become a part of the orphanage system.
A young boy, barely three years old he was the youngest in the system, both Sakusa's had gone through his file, created and abandoned by two reckless middle school students both being younger then nineteen, the orphanage's faculty and Kiyoomi's lawyer held a meeting with the children teen birthparents, after a long tiring document signing the child's custody was officially handed over to the Sakusa's and they were incharge of the changes made in the child's birth certificate and after completing all the formalities. Kiyoomi and Katsuki were finally registered as adoptive parents of little boy who was now named, Kenma. Sakusa Kozume Kenma.
Kenma was a quite baby. Katsuki first thought his soft nature was due to being shy or the fact that he was picked up by people he didn't know and was going places he had never been too in his two and a half years old existence. Kiyoomi had suggested getting the last minute items for a baby store and take Baby Kenma with them.
Kenma had been snuggled up in Katsuki's arms and the kid was relatively relaxed taking in his surroundings with wide golden eyes. Kenma was on the shorter side, he was thin too, his hair was long and blonde up until the roots then they started turning a shade of brown and getting darker. He was a natural cute pudding head. And Katsuki thought that it was the cutest thing ever.
Upon entering the car Katsuki could tell that Kenma was getting nervous and jittery but all hell broke loos when Kiyoomi turned the engine on. Kenma's voice was loud and sharp as he wailed, fat tears falling from quickly turning red eyes. Kiyoomi had quickly shut the engine off and a look of pure panic and alarm had taken over his features. He wasn't good in situations like these, he didn't know what to do, but thankfully his husband did.
"Sshhh shhh it's okay. I'm sorry the bad noise scared you, it's okay baby it's okay" Katsuki cooed at Kenma gentle rocking him until his sobs turned into soft whimper. They sat like this for a few more minutes until it was completely quiet Kiyoomi hadn't taken his eyes of off Kenma. Katsuki gently moved a now sleeping kenma closer to his chest wrapping both his arms around the babies back and snuggled him closer. Kenma's delicate tiny little hands fisted themselves on Katsuki's dresses shirt.
Katsuki looked at Kiyoomi a proud smile on his face as he looked at his husband who was already staring at him with something close to wonder in his dark eyes. "I think we should just go home first and get the rest of the stuff some other time" Katsuki suggested, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah. Okay" Kiyoomi looked hesitant but he turned the car back on and Kenma was too deep in sleep to freak out about the noise tthe engine made or that they slowly drived their way back home.
They were parked outside their house, Katsuki moving to open the car door but Kiyoomi stopped him. "Do you think he'll like it?"
"Like what?"
"Living here, living with us. Having us as parents, having me as a parent?"
"Is this what bothering you Kiyoomi? That you think you won't be good enough or you'll mess up?" when Katsuki didn't get an answer his suspicion was confirmed.
Katsuki turned to face Kiyoomi the best he could, "Kiyoomi, every one makes mistakes, i'll make some, you'll make some and so will Kenma. But the main goal is to love this little pudding. We'll love him, we'll care for him, we'll be there for him, feed him, educate him and just... I don't know do what good parents do I guess. I don't really know right now. But when the time come I promise you we'll know. You'll know. And then one day, we'll get to say that he" Katsuki looked at the still sleeping Kenma who was now drooling on his shirt " Well get to say he's our baby, Kenma is our son"
This chapter was inspired by when I saw baby kenma pictures on pinterest and I was just 😍. Hope you enjoyed the chapter. I cried writing this, idk why.
