"You don't have to fight this alone. We can do this together. You're not alone anymore." he leaned forward as he placed his hand on top of hers.
"I wish I could believe you. But I was raised in a different background than you. I know how evil and painful the world really is. It's useless to think otherwise." I pulled my hand away.
"What do you mean?" he looked confused.
"I mean that if you stare into the abyss long enough, it starts to gaze back at you."
