The sun had fully set by the time you and Chan had pulled up to the motel. The closest motel had been farther away than you thought, so you were driving for quite a while. Chan had eventually given in to your nagging and halfway through the drive the two of you swapped, so he could get a break from the extensive driving he'd already done throughout the day.

Barely a few minutes after you'd started driving Chan started to doze off in his seat. Poor guy was probably exhausted. He'd been through a lot, near murder twice and having his whole world turned inside out. He had been covering up his exhaustion well, but the minute he didn't have to concentrate anymore he was out like a light.

You kept driving until inky darkness blanketed the sky. You felt strangely safer in the night, like it was harder to be seen. It was the most comfortable you'd felt in a long time. You ended up having to pull into a small town to find a motel. You were on the verge of passing out by the time you got there as well.

You gently shook Chan awake, ignoring the feeling that fluttered in your stomach seeing him bleary-eyed and half awake. You both slowly made your way out of the car and into the lobby. Thankfully, this time you weren't covered in as much blood and dirt, so the room booking process went a lot smoother.

You and Chan got rooms next to each other, but didn't have any stuff so you just shot up to your rooms as soon as they were booked. Chan must have gone right to sleep, as there was nothing but silence on his side of the wall. You at least managed a short shower, throwing on your underwear and shirt before climbing under the covers of the bed.

You didn't even remember falling asleep. You just awoke the next morning, sore form head to toe and head throbbing the way it hadn't for years. God, you forgot how disgusting not using your powers felt.

You dragged yourself out of bed, and tugged your jeans on, just in time for the knock that came at your door. You stood up, a hand still cradling your head and answered the door. Chan was standing there, still in the same crumpled clothes from yesterday, but he looked awake and fresh so he must have had a shower too.

"Good morning." You grumbled, voice still raspy from sleep.

"Morning." Chan smiled and your stomach did a flip. He hadn't smiled much since you'd met and you weren't a fan of what it did to you when he did. "I went out and got some breakfast. I figured it'd be safe to go out if it was just me." He said.

He was holding a paper bag in his hand, and a delicious smell wafted up to greet your nose. You quickly moved out of the doorway so Chan could make his way inside. He walked in and placed the bag on the small kitchen counter. You followed the bag with your nose, mouth watering as Chan pulled out an assortment of different pastries.

"There was a bakery down the road. I only stopped in for a few minutes, and nobody tried to kill me, so I'd say it was a successful trip." Chan was speaking but you were only half listening.

You reached out for the pastry closest to you and shoved it in your mouth. It had nearly been a full forty-eight hours since you'd had a proper meal. Those stupid grey's had caught you at the gas station, and the werewolf had interrupted you mid meal at the diner. But here, there were no interruptions.

Chan watched you, a little shocked at how fast you chowed down on the food he brought, swallowing some bites whole.

"I think we should just live here forever." You mumbled, midway through your third croissant. "Did you want one?" You asked, the thought only just occurring to you that he probably bought these for both of you.

"No, I ate in the car on the way here, you're all good." Chan said, still bemused.

"Thank god." You polished off the rest of the food in record time.
