You couldn't find a motel anywhere nearby, so you'd resorted to sleeping in the car. The way your body ached had you regretting that decision now. There was a stubborn crick in your neck and you were stiff all up and down your spine. From the way Chan moved, you could guess his body was left in a similar state.

You'd awoken, stretched your body, and then set out on the road again. You were so close to the end now you could practically taste it on your tongue. Nonetheless, your stomach was churning with a plethora of different mixed feelings. You weren't exactly scared, but you were sure as hell nervous about breaking into Hell. You were absolutely terrified of facing your parents again. No doubt they had a lot to say about what you had been up to the past few days. And of course you were conflicted about saying goodbye to Chan. Your brain and your heart were in a hot debate about how you should feel, your better sense knowing this was safe for him, but your heart yearning to keep him in your clutches and never again let go.

You tried to squash your hurricane of thoughts to the back of your mind, and just focus on the task at hand, but they were all still brewing there, like a threatening shadow. You could only push the worries back for so long.

Eventually you brought the car to a stop. You pulled off the road and parked. Stretching left to right, front to back for miles and miles was nothing. Exactly how you wanted it. Coming in and out of your not-technically-legal gate to Hell, you did not want to be spotted.

"Alright, this is it." You said, your words sounding a little weak. Chan pursed his lips as he gazed out at the barren dirt.

"I'm not sure how to feel about going into Hell." He said, looking just as conflicted as you felt.

"Excited, definitely." You chuckled, opening the car door and stepping out. The heat rolled over you immediately, thick waves of humidity that almost instantly had your shirt dampening. "I don't suppose there are many humans that can say they've gone to Hell and come back."

Chan laughed, getting out of the car himself. "Yes, though I don't really know if this is a topic I can just bring up in conversation."

You just shrugged. You walked out further into the field of nothing, dead grass crunching under your feet. Chan followed along, clutching the handle of his axe anxiously. You stopped a ways away from the road, the car a speck in the distance. The ground was nice and flat here, and far enough away from any prying eyes that may drive past. With a grimace you reached into your pocket, and grabbed a handful of grave dirt. It had dried now, and was little more than a grey powder, but the thought of it still made you shudder.

Chan stood by and watched as you began to grab fistfuls of dirt and started sprinkling it over the ground. Transportation circles were one of the things you'd been able to use in the last few years seeing as you didn't need to use your own power for it, so it came to you with familiar ease. Within the first circle, you put down all necessary symbols and words needed to activate it. When you were finished with that you felt it hum to life, the earth vibrating under your feet.

Within the second circle you put both you and Chan's name, and on the other side you put Asad's name, your contact in Hell. Just before you were finished writing you turned to Chan.

"Okay, you need to come in now." You gestured for him to walk over. He cautiously stepped over all your markings, careful not to disrupt your work. "It's going to take a minute or two for Asad to accept, but I'll let you know when we're going to go." You explained.

You finished off the markings while you talked, the entire circle glowing blue when the final touches were done. You and Chan waited in silence for a few moments, neither of you really knowing what to say.
