"Fuck." You cursed, seconds before Paimon leaped over the desk and came barreling in your direction. Just before he could slam into you, you brought your hands up, power rushing out in one big burst, sending him flying backwards. He skidded on the floor, but was up on his feet in seconds, sprinting back in your direction.

You pushed Chan out of the way just in time for your world to go spinning out of focus as Paimon ran right into you, knocking the both of you to the ground. You planted your hands on his chest letting your power seep forward until your hands were burning. Paimon grunted in pain through clenched teeth, but didn't pull himself off you until his skin was smoking. He was left with two black handprints on his chest, but that didn't stop him from advancing again.

Paimon did not become Mammon's second in command for nothing. He too possessed deep depths of power, and as you were getting up to your feet to meet him head on again, he sent you flying backwards with a sizzling bolt of electricity to your chest. You cried out in agony when it hit you, jolting backwards and hitting the floor.

Your pain ignited a rage in Chan, and he launched himself from where he was sprawled on the ground. Paimon, not anticipating an attack from a human, had been paying him no mind, and only noticed Chan was gunning for him seconds before Chan reached him.

Your old axe was in his hands, and he was swinging with a ferocity you've never seen before. He brought it down on Paimon with a cry of rage, but alas Chan was only human. Paimon wasn't quick enough to dodge the axe, the sharp blade clipping him on the shoulder, but Paimon was still much stronger than Chan. Grabbing him by one of his arms, he threw Chan across the room, scoffing in satisfaction when Chan crashed into one of the bookshelves and fell unmoving to the ground.

Your pain disappeared when you saw Chan hit the ground. You reached over your shoulder with one hand, pulling your sword from its sheath with a sharp whine. Your other hand was reaching to your gun, pulling it from it's holster. You weren't as good a shot with your non-dominant hand, but it was better than nothing.

Paimon turned back to you, dark grey skin gleaming with sweat. He shot out another bolt of electricity, but you managed to duck out of it's path, and answered with a bullet from your gun. It whizzed past his head, costing a few seconds of his attention as he rushed to dodge it.

You used these few seconds to your advantage, advancing on him with your sword, bringing it down in a hard arc. Without a sword of his own, Paimon couldn't fight back and was reduced to ducking and flipping away from your attacks. You managed to land a few shallow cuts to his arms, but you were getting desperate and started lashing out as hard as you could to hit him somewhere more substantial.

You made the mistake of getting too eager, and Paimon managed to get past one of your attacks, his fist crashing into your face. There was enough force behind it that you went spinning to the ground, your sword clattering down beside you. Face down on the ground, your gun wasn't much use. You tried to reach out for your sword which was only centimetres away from your hand, but Paimon brought his booted foot down on your fingers.

You screamed as bones crunched under the pressure. He dug his heel in further, and your vision blurred. "I've got to say, I am delightfully surprised." His deep voice grumbled. "I really wasn't expecting you to put up this much of a fight. I didn't know you had this much power in you."

You tried to summon your powers to blast him off, but the pain was overwhelming. "I guess I should have known as much, you are one of Tanner's friends and he always said he didn't bother with weak scum. Still, I thought he was only keeping you around 'cause you were a pretty face."

Your dominant hand was incapacitated, but your other hand was still free. Whilst it was extremely difficult to shoot in this position, you had no other options left. Summoning what energy you had left, you screamed through the pain as you curled your hand behind your back, and aimed the gun in Paimon's general direction. You fired a bullet, and had you not been in so much pain you would have whooped in success when it found its home in Paimon's shin.
