That is the main rule of this heart-throbbing school trip!" Door Keeper #2 repeated in surprise, "'Heart-throbbing school trip'...?" Usami nodded and continued, twirling around by itself. "Spend these peaceful and relaxing days nourishing hope and lazing about, free from pain, free from suffering... Truly, this lovey-dovey heart-throbbing school trip is..."

The rabbit did a final spin before hopping up and down happily, ending with, "...everyone's homework!" The brown haired kid shouted, "What the hell does that even mean...!?" Usami stood with its arms up and completely ignored his question. "Now, then! Let the heart-throbbing school trip begin!"

I held an electric tablet in my hands and sat down on a grassy patch at a park I found while aimlessly walking around. My legs were getting a bit wobbly so I left the beach to find a place to sit that was still somewhat in the open. Walking across an entire bridge and to the park only made my legs ache further, honestly, but just sitting down was worth it.

Everything that's happened so far has honestly completely flew by my head. I have a feeling that this trip won't be only for a few hours but did my parents really consent to this without telling me? Or does the school send something about this afterwards because the achievement 'Gone Missing' is one I would not like to gain.

Oh and that electronic thingy in my hand. Apparently it's called an e-Handbook and is used for collecting things called 'Hope Fragments'. No idea what those are but you'd basically get them by talking to other people.

For some reason, I would expect people already spent but being an Ultimate must also give you high energy, because no one, not even me, has given up on life yet and crashed somewhere to take a nap because of mental drain. It was actually kind of inspiring.

At the time, I was just fiddling with the e-Handbook and trying to figure out everything you can do with it. There's some game where you can raise a pet and give it presents, making it gain hope hearts. However, it poops a lot and when you don't clean it up for a while, it loses hope and turns to the dark side, gaining despair hearts.

Kinda sketchy, but also pretty fun. After figuring out how to find the report card with the student profiles, a present storage space, a map, the rules, and a question mark, I figured I should go back to the beach.

When I had left earlier, the one normally dressed student had laid down on the beach and seemed to be having an existential crisis while another student with his green jacket was patiently sitting next to him. That guy was probably waiting for him to move with the rest of the group but it looked like the other dude was going to be out of it for a while.

So, I psyched myself up and used the map on my e-Handbook to find the beach from where I was. As I walked out of what I found was called 'Jabberwock Park', I raised my eyes from the tablet to see that the glasses wearing, white suited boy was on his way towards the park.

We made eye contact and I flipped him off, making his eyes roll but he still asked, "What is your name?" I shrugged and tried to waltz out but he blocked my path, looking down on me. "Please just cooperate. If we are to live together on this island than it would be better if we at least know each other's names."

I sucked in a breath to try and say something snarky but I let it out pathetically, grumbling, "Yeah, you're right." Clearing my throat I gave him a forced grin, introducing, "My name is [Name] [L.Name]. You can call me by my last name, first name is reserved for the people I like but, nice to meet you, man."

The guy seemed a bit irked by the meaning behind my words but still introduced himself as well. "Byakuya Togami. I'm the Ultimate Affluent Progeny, I wish I could say likewise but your attitude isn't giving you a good start for this trip."

I was going to try and argue back but Togami had already moved away, clearly not wanting to prolong the conversation

I was going to try and argue back but Togami had already moved away, clearly not wanting to prolong the conversation.

But...it was my fault for being so sour in the first place. So, I just sighed, hearing a ding from my e-Handbook. It was probably a notification for getting a Hope Fragment but I wasn't really focused on that.

Another mental note was made to make a better impression on Togami than the one that was just made. Realizing that I never told him my Ultimate talent, I decided to use that as a conversation starter for next time and hurried along to get back to what was labeled as the '1st Island'.

Finally spotting the two guys that were there when I left, I lightly jogged over, catching the one that was functioning by surprise. "[Name]? What are you doing here?" He asked, giving me a puzzled look that I returned as I slowed to a walking pace. "How do you know my name?"

The boy grinned in a welcoming fashion and scratched his cheek, admitting, "I actually looked through a forum last night about all the students. I'm hoping I pronounced your name correctly." When I nodded, he only seemed happier. "I'm glad. Ah, my name is Nagito Komaeda, if you didn't know."

I chose to return his gleeful expression except a bit sized down, simply smiling softly. "Nice to meet you. My name's [Name] [L.Name] but you already know that, huh?" Komaeda nodded but returned his gaze to the brown haired kid lying on the ground with his arm covering his eyes.

"He's been out of it ever since we've gotten the e-Handbooks. I was just about to try and get him up again. After all, a Symbol of Hope shouldn't miss an opportunity like this." Symbol...oh! I guess Ultimate's are technically 'Symbol's of Hope'. I agreed wordlessly and knelt down across from Komaeda.

I took a good look at the dude and stated, "I can wake him up for you." Komaeda must've seen the devilish grin plastered onto my face that grew after I said my offer and chuckled, shaking his head. "I'm sure you can but let me do it. This is something that even someone like me can contribute, plus you look like you're going to shout into his ears."

When I frowned and crossed my arms, Komaeda smiled apologetically before looking back down and at the average-looking high school student, calling, "Hey. Can you hear me?" Shockingly, that actually worked. The guy lifted his arm a bit, squinting his eyes probably from the blaring sun shining down on him.

"Are you...okay? To be honest, I'm also... No, everyone else feels the same, too. Since we suddenly...got put into this weird situation." I side-glanced at Komaeda. It sounded like he was writing a journal entry.

"..."

"Hey, are you listening?"
