"Wh-what the hell is this? It's like a PDA or a smartphone... Wh-Why is something like this inside my pocket?" Komaeda was perplexed, recalling, "Usami was passing them out earlier... Remember?" However, his confusion passed by quickly and instead he laughed at his own reaction. "Oh right... You seemed pretty out of it when that was going on."
Hinata narrowed his eyes in concentration, retaliating, "N-now that you mention it...I think I kinda remember but... What is this?" He totally didn't remember. Usami made a 'ding ding ding' ad-lib while cheerfully informing, "It's an e-Handbook!"

I nearly threw the entire rabbit right then and there, just out of shock and fear. Somehow it had managed to sneak up on all of us, without even making a sound. Hinata yelped, "What the...!? Where did you come from?!" Usami seemed completely unapologetic as it apologized, "Oh, did I startle you? I'm terribly sorry."
Yeah no it totally wasn't sorry, giggling as it held it's stomach. "Tee-hee... I know how to apologize like a good girl!" So it was a girl. I think. She finished her self-praise and remarked, "Anyway, don't you think it's cool?" Not waiting for Hinata's answer she ruled, "That handbook is absolutely vital for this school trip, so make sure you don't lose it!"
Hinata was taken aback, muttering, "Th-this device is that important?" Usami nodded before throwing her arms up in the air. "I've asked everyone to use their e-Handbook to gather all of the Hope Fragments!" With that, I zoned out and stared out at the sea. Surprisingly, the weather wasn't that hot but still wearing a jacket in this weather would be crazy.
Hint hint. I didn't say anything on Komaeda's clothing, though, just thought it wasn't my place. Speaking of Komaeda, I think I did something wrong. He just suddenly had a huge change in his vibe earlier and it was not passing the checkpoint. Did he think I was not cool enough to be a student or something? Don't know, kinda care.
"Ah, what are you looking at, [L.Name]?" I flinched back to attention, turning back to the other two guys and replying to Komaeda's question, meekly answering, "Nothing really." Hinata hummed and put his e-Handbook back into his pocket, looking around the beach once again. "Where did everyone else go?"
I shrugged while Komaeda conspired, "Maybe, they're all exploring the island as well?" "Exploring the island...?" I explained, "Yeah, we don't know anything about this place at all. I hope everyone went in groups, though, for exactly that reason."
Komaeda nodded and looked between Hinata and I. "How about we all go together? Of course you don't have to, a person like me is a bit-" "-too self-deprecating?" When he glanced up from the hand he randomly decided to stare at, I gave him a pointed eyebrow raise before looking at Hinata.
"Personally, I'm fine with it. You gonna come, Hinata?" Hinata bowed his head and Komaeda grinned. "Shall we get going then?" He and I began to walk off but Hinata was dragging his feet behind us, making Komaeda turn back with concern, checking, "Are you okay, Hinata?"
Hinata glanced up from the shore's sand in front of him and stammered, "Y-yeah I'm fine." I put on a blank look and teased, "Want a piggy back ride?" Hinata was startled by the question, stepping back from me. "Wh-what!?" Lips curling upwards led close after by snickering, I laughed and Hinata just looked at me in confusion.
With a final chuckle, I waved him over and clarified, "I was just joking. Let's hurry before the afternoon comes." Hinata was flustered but moved forward to walk side by side with Komaeda and I. "D-don't make fun of me like that.," He growled in a way that would've been intimidating if he wasn't embarrassed.
I hummed in a way that made it obvious I was most likely going to do it again and Hinata shouted, "I'm being serious!" Komaeda laughed beside us and gently put a hand on my shoulder. "That's enough, [Name]." I loudly sighed for a dramatic effect but still had a stupid grin on my face, feeling a bit better even in this strange situation.
Komaeda, Hinata, and I all walked along the sandy 'pathway', Hinata leading us along because of Komaeda's suggestion for him to try out his e-Handbook. The Ultimate Lucky Student was actually the one doing most of the talking, even if it was just basic questions. I learned that Hinata likes mochi a lot, except for a specific few, and that Nagito hates noisy places, his reasoning being that sometimes too much noise can take away the natural beauty in things.
We didn't actually have to go that far, finding a path that branched off at a building with huge white tubes that looked liked airplanes, being called 'Airport' on the map. So I'm guessing it was the airport. Inside of the digitized version, there were two icons that represented two students. It was Beanie Shark and another guy who hadn't spoken amongst the panic earlier.
Hinata stuck his hands and e-Handbook in his pockets as Komaeda excitedly led us into the airport, waving at the other Ultimates once we were inside the structure. However Hinata was the one to speak first, inquiring, "Couldn't we use those planes to escape this island?" I snorted and asked, "Do you know how to fly a plane?" He slowly shook his head 'no' and I patted his shoulder in condolences.
"Even if someone here could fly one, it's impossible. If they were damaged, I could fix 'em, but it looks like these planes are just for show..." Hinata repeated Beanie Shark's words, wondering, "Just for show...?" Beanie Shark sighed and scratched his cheek. "The engines have been completely removed. Nothing I can do about that."
Once again, Hinata echoed his statement, mumbling, "...Completely removed?" I glared at the planes, chiding, "Usami is just mocking us, then." Beanie Shark solemnly nodded to my statement before perking up again. "Oh, that reminds me... You guys and me haven't been introduced yet, right?"
