Isn't life strange?
It throws you so many curveballs you got to dodge, and if you don't, it will knock you out completely. Life is a constant struggle, nothing is easy. With that being said, there are few breaks, those inbetween moments. Those moments, are what keeps you alive. I live for those moments. He was my break, he was my inbetween moment. But sadly, life threw a big curveball at me that I couldn't avoid. So here I am, in my childhood bedroom, sat with tears in my eyes, as I'm dreaming back to my night with him.
With my parents constantly throwing shade at me, praising my sister and basically hiding me from their friends, I'm feeling like an outcast. This might be my childhood home, but it isn't my home.
It never was.
"Hey Em, did you steal my dress? I need it for the concert" Rose shouted from the door, frantically knocking on it. "No Rose, you know I don't do dresses" I yelled back and rolled my eyes. Leave it to Rose to never listen or pay attention to anyone but herself.
"Are you sure? I really need itttt!" she sounded desperate and started tripping. "Rose, for fuck sake, I don't have your bloody dress!" I marched over to the door and smashed it open. "God, why are you so aggressive? Are you sure seeing that," she looked down at me, "therapist is helping you?" She crossed her arms and lifted an eyebrow.
With a sigh, I just closed door in her face and walked back to my bed.
"Snob"
I finished the can of icecream and threw it in the trash. I looked down at my body, two years had passed, and I still struggled with gaining weight. I feel like I've been eating way more than normally, but nothing happened to my body.
I walked over to the balcony, overlooking the little streets around Battersea, the small cafés and pubs surrounding the streets. It was all quite beautiful, but it meant nothing to me.
"Emma, your dad and I are going out tonight," I heard my lovely mother shout, at the end of the stairs, "please don't touch the gold cutlery, we just got them all cleaned and polished" she added and I sighed. "Oh and try to shower today my dear, you really need it".
I banged my head against the wall and I heard Rose's laughter through the wall. "Shut up!" I shouted and punched the wall.
"Okay so the dress was in my closet," Rose ran into my room and held up the bloody dress she was moaning about, "what do you think? Is it too much for a rock concert? To little? Do I need to go shorter?" she asked too many questions and I put my head in my hands.
"Uhh hello, anybody home?" Rose nudged my hands away and I rolled my eyes. "Rose, if it's a bloody ROCK concert, don't you think wearing a cocktail dress, is a bit overkill?" I moaned and crossed my arms. Her orange hair was put up in a bun and her green eyes were looking on the dress in her hand.
"Hmm, you're right" she mumbled and ran over to my closet, started browsing through it.
"Hey!"
"Oh come on Ems, you've got so many, uh, interesting dresses. They'd fit right in with this rock n roll show. Let me borrow one, please" she turned around and sent me her bambi eyes. I moaned and waved my arms around. "Fine, but don't you fucking stain it!" I exclaimed and held a finger up.
"What are you two up to?" I heard dad's voice emit from my door and I immediatly sat down on the bed again. "Emma is borrowing me a dress for tonights concert! I don't have anything you see," Rose laughed and dad rolled his eyes.
"You have a whole room filled up with clothes and shoes, don't you even start young lady"
"But dad! It's a rock concert, I can't wear my fancy cocktail dresses" Rose rolled her eyes and walked back to my closet. "You know, you should bring your little sister to the concert. It's in Hyde Park, right?" Dad exclaimed and walked into my room, with a lifted finger.
