“GOD BETTY! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, NOT EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND YOU!”

“I’M NOT SAYING THAT JUG! IT’S NOT JUST ME YOU’VE BEEN IGNORING, IT’S ARCHIE, KEVIN, VERONICA, PEOPLE WHO FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOU!”

“NO IT’S NOT, YOUR THE ONLY ONE FUCKING CALLING ME EVERY HOUR, GIVING ME TEXTS EVERY FUCKING SECOND! YOUR JUST SO CLINGY, WHY THE FUCK AM I EVEN WITH YOU!”

The yelling stopped, why did I say that? She looked me in the eyes, they glossed over.

“Tell me you don’t love me” she said, I just stayed quiet.

“FUCKING TELL ME JUG!” She yelled tears streaming down her face.

“I DON’T LOVE YOU!” I yelled at her, she just shook her head and left me in the cold trailer.

The argument was hours ago, it's 12:35 now, I didn’t even bother to go after her. I couldn’t sleep, it was on and off crying and anger for me all night. Then the phone started ringing, I didn’t want to answer it, then a second time, then a third, by the fourth call I answered it.

“What?” I said obviously agitated.

“Jughead have you seen Betty?” A panicked Alice said “she hasn’t came home yet, and she left at 8”

“Wait, what?” I said frightened.

“Betty hasn’t come home, I called Archie, Veronica, Cheryl, Kevin, and Pop. No one has seen her!” I didn’t say anything for a while “Jughead? Jughead are you there?”

I just hung up, my phone slipped through my hands. I fell to the ground and broke down, why did I have to be a sucky boyfriend, she left hours ago! She could be dead for all we know, that small thought made me cry no sob harder. Then it hit me, she could be hurt but alive. I ran out the door, grabbed a flashlight and got into my dad’s truck, I checked all the roads and buildings. I even checked the abandoned drive-in, nowhere. That only made me even more scared, I decided to call everyone to double check, they all said that they haven’t. Then it hit me, the woods. I ran as fast as I could, I checked as many trees as I could, then I heard shuffling.

“BETTY?!” No answer.

“BETTY?!” I called again, no answer.

I heard the shuffling again, as well as a slight sneeze. I followed the noise, it led me to a pine tree with branches weeping low to the ground. I lifted a few pines to see a cold, sleeping, Betty. Her face was extremely tear stained, she was hugging her knees close to her body, her jacket was barely covering her.

“Oh Betty, I’m so stupid” I picked her up bridal style, she shifted a little but stayed asleep.

I walked all the way back to the truck and placed her gently on the passenger seat. I shut the truck door as quietly as I could and got into the drivers side, I buckled her in, took off my jacket and placed it on her.

“I’m so so sorry Betty, this is all my fault, if I had been a good boyfriend you wouldn’t be out in the fucking cold crying” I said getting angry at myself.

I drove all the way to my trailer. I opened the truck door, got Betty out and took her to my bedroom and placed her on my bed. I called Alice telling her I found Betty and she was staying over, then I went to the living room to sleep on the couch. I’m sure Betty is really mad at me so I doubt she would want to share the bed with me right now. As soon as I hit the couch I passed out, then I was woken by loud cries and thrashing. I immediately went into my room to check on Betty, she was still asleep but she was kicking, cring, and mumbling things. Realizing she was having a nightmare I ran up to the bed and cradled her head close to my chest and begged her to wake up. She eventually did.

“What am I doing here?” Betty asked quietly.

“Your mom called me and told me you didn’t go home after our argument, I got so so worried, I ended up looking for you”

“You said you d-d-didn’t l-love m-me” she cried.

“I have no idea why I said that baby, I didn’t mean a single word okay? I was just so stressed from school and the Serpents, you were only being a good girlfriend, and I was just being a sucky boyfriend”

Betty clung onto my shirt and nuzzled her head in my chest.

“I’m still mad at you, but I don’t want to be alone right now, so don’t go” she said, her voice muffled.

“I promise I won’t, I’m never going to do that again, alright”

She didn’t answer, I was concerned for a second but then I heard her slight snores. I laid her down and got up, she started whining, and making grabby hands towards me.

“It’s okay I’m right here” I said as I got on the other side of the bed.

She immediately calmed down and held onto me for dear life. She nuzzled into me once more then fell back into complete sleep. I eventually followed.
