I walk down the streets of Los Angeles for some last minute shopping for my honeymoon with Charles with a dozen shopping bags in each hand.

"Oh, sorry", I apologize to the man I just ran into. I look up to see a familiar face I didn't really expect seeing.

"Luke?!" I exclaim.

"Oh hi, Cami", he smiles,"Doing some last-minute shopping?"

"You know me so well. Charles and I are headed to Aruba right after our wedding next week. I still have a lot of things to get."

"Well, I'm not surprised",he chuckles," I was going to grab a cup of coffee, do you want to come with me?"

"I guess the shopping could wait, yeah."

We go into a nearby coffee shop and take a seat at a table next to the window.

"Do you remember this place?" He looks at me.

"How could I forget?" I laugh," We used to come here all the time whenever I had something to complain to you about."

"Yep. You'd tell me all the drama that's been going on between you and Cole, and right when I'd be about to give you advice, he'd come in and you would work it out, with my help of course", he beams.

He realizes that my face is getting red, and my eyes are fixed on the napkin in between my hands.

"No! Camila Carraro Mendes, you're getting married in a week. I'm disappointed in you."

"Hey, don't judge. Wait till you hear the whole story.", I say.

We spend hours talking about my feelings and love life problems while sipping one of the finest coffees in the city.

"So? Any advice?" I chuckle.

"I can't believe I'm actually saying this", he sighs," but I can't benefit you in any way. Just sit back and everything will be sorted out on its own. Let the signs come to you."

"Thanks, Luke. You've always been like a second dad to me, have I ever told you that before?"

"No problem, hunny. And it looks like your first sign has just entered through that door", he laughs.

"What?" I say as I turn around to face my "first sign" that hasn't noticed me yet apparently. This is a huge city, why do we keep running into each other?

"Cole, over here", Luke raises his hand to draw his attention.

"Luke, no",I whisper.

"It's too late", he whispers back as he stands up to greet Cole who is now standing right behind me.

"Hi, Luke, what's up", I hear his perky voice say, but then it fades away as he continues, "Hello, Cami."

"Hi", I smile while remaining seated.

"Come, sit", Luke says as he takes out the chair next to him.

"No, it's okay, I'll just take my coffee to go", he replies.

"Don't be silly. I haven't seen you in so long. I missed our father/son chats", Luke jokes then clears his voice and looks at me meaning I should probably say something.

"Yeah", I blurt out.

Yeah? What was I thinking?

𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒆'𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 !

'Yeah?' Was that really the best she could say? She obviously doesn't want me here. I know I have to leave even though I really want to be with the both of them right now.

"I mean, stay", Cami then says.

"No, no it's fine I-"

"Cole. Stay", she cuts me off.

I smile and take a seat next to them.

I loved catching up with them. We just talked about random stuff that has been going on with each one of us.

"Will you excuse me, I have to use the bathroom", Luke says as he gets up. He straightens his shirt then leaves after winking at Cami. They probably thought I wouldn't notice, but I did. What was that all about?

I take a sip of my coffee as I look out the window to try and ignore the awkward silence. It is so quiet that both Cami and I could hear me gulp.

I look over at Cami to find her shifting and moving uneasily in her seat. She then starts to fiddle with her bracelet.

"Where's Luke? What's taking him so long?" I break the silence.

"He just left", Cami laughs as she shakes her head.

I nod.

"I don't want this to be awkward", she snickers,"Let's forget everything that happened and start over. I don't want anything to get between our friendship."

"Yes, our friendship is great, I miss how things used to be a while back."

"I'm glad we're on the same page", she grins.

Well, I guess being friends is better than nothing.

"Hey Luke's back", I say.

He sits back down, and we continue our little chats filled with jokes and laughter. It's just three of us hanging out at a cafe, just like the old days.
