when you rise
so does the sun
the day bends in half
willing itself to smile back
at the beauty that breaks
and cracks
through the surfaceeven in the rain you set colour
to the sky
like a rainbow
making everyone you pass
aglow
with admiration.they don't see the crown that sits
atop of your head
the power and grace
of a woman who knows her place
in a world trying to fight
her
down
trying to bury her
only to find her rising from the ground.
whispers of worry
and chaos burden her.a daughter yearning to touch that chaos.
her mind at a loss.
with a heart so gilded and grand
i smile back at that beauty,
finding it in you so cunning and keen
knowing why you are my queen.-things unspoken
