Namjoon's POV
I hung up with Seokjin and looked at the five children that were sitting on a blanket on the floor, since they were a bit dirty and Seokjin would have a heart attack if his all white couch got covered in dirt and whatever else.
I was getting ready for work, when I heard a knock at the door, along with the doorbell ringing. Of course I answer the door, seeing five children on my doorstep. One of the children gave me a piece of paper, which I took and read it carefully, it said:
Dear Mr. Kim,
I have been watching you and your husband for the past week or so and chose you to take my children as your own. I'm not able to care for them anymore, as I am mostly poor and only make enough money to support myself. Please take care of my children and let them know that I did this so they could have a better life than I ever did.
Sincerely,
Their MotherI looked at the children again and bit my lip, not sure what I should do.
"So umm...do any of you want something to drink? Maybe some food?" I asked them.
"Yes sir, we're very hungry." One of them spoke.
I nodded and went in the kitchen to see what I could find. I ended up finding some leftover spaghetti that Seokjin made a few days ago, putting them in five small bowls and heating them up. We didn't really have much to drink, since we haven't went to the grocery store yet, so I grabbed some cups and filled them up with water.
Once all of the food was heated up, I carried them to the living room and set them down in front of them. As I was about to go and get the cups of water, Seokjin walks through the door and looks at the children that were on the floor.
"Wow, they must've been hungry." Seokjin said.
"Yeah, who knows how long it's been since they ate anything." I said, watching them basically shove the food in their mouth. "They just showed up with a letter for me to read." I said before pulling out the letter from my pocket and giving it to him.
I watched as Seokjin read it and tilted his head a bit. "So their mother just dumped them here like they were trash?" He asked.
"But she said-"
"I don't care what she said. Regardless if she's poor or not, her first priority should've been her children. She had the nerve to say that she only made enough money to support herself, it stopped being all about her when she decided to have children." Seokjin said, throwing the paper on the ground.
I watched as Seokjin kneeled down and looked at them. he was way better with children than I was.
"Hello, sweeties, where's your mommy?" He asked them.
"Mommy said that we were going to live with you now." One of them said.
He nodded. "I see, did she say when she was going to be back?"
"No, she said that we would live here forever." Another one of them said.
He nodded. "I see." He said, looking as if he was struggling to figure out what to say or do. He stood up and looked at me as if to ask what we were going to do.
"I'm not sure what to do, Joon. Do we call the police? Do we take them to the orphanage across town? What do we do?" He asked me.
"I'm not sure either, that's why I was hoping you would know what to do." I said.
I looked at the children again, who were now looking at us, most likely hearing what we were talking about.
Seokjin kneeled down again and gave all of them a kind smile. "Hey, can you tell me your names and how old you are?" He asked them.
"I'm Yoongi, I'm seven."
"I'm Hoseok, I'm six."
"I'm Jimin, I'm five."
The next children looked down, playing with his fingers nervous.
"That's Taehyung, he's very shy and doesn't talk much." Jimin said. "He's five too, we're twins." He said happily.
He smiled and looked at the last children, who looked was small and had this bunny-like smile.
"And who are you, cutie?" He asked.
"That's Jungkook, hes three." Yoongi said.
He nodded and looked at all of them. "It's nice to meet all of you." He said. "Do you have any other family members that you can stay with?"
"No, mommy's family don't like us." Yoongi said.
"Yeah, they're very mean to us." Hoseok added.
He nodded. "Does mommy have any friends you can stay with?"
"I don't know, mommy never let us leave the house and said that she wouldn't feed us if we didn't stay in the house." Yoongi said.
"Yeah, we're only allowed to leave to go to school." Hoseok said.
I was in shock at their words, they were being neglected by their own mother?
Seokjin looked back at me and stood up.
"They're staying." He said.
"But where will they sleep?" I asked him.
"I'll figure everything out, until then, I'll be right back." He says before grabbing his keys and leaving again before I had a chance to say anything else.
"Mister, are you and the nice man going to be our new parents?" Jimin asked.
I looked back at him and bit my lip. "We'll just have to wait and see." was all I can say, because I honestly wasn't sure what the outcome if this was going to be.
