CHAPTER 22

SETH POV:

I had done my part, now all he had to do was his. And if everything works out like I planned...you'll be looking at the new and improved Seth Freakin' Ro...-

RING RING.....RING RING....

I looked down at my cell and my heart immediately began to thud! I slowly picked it up and took a deep breath before answering...

''I underestimated you man, you work fast'' I said when I answered the phone.

Roman was the only one with the number, so I knew it was him, I had gotten the phone specifically for this reason when the plan first came to mind. So you could imagine my surprise when I heard a different voice on the other end of the line...

''Seth...it's me...Fai...-''

''Faith?'' I said, feeling my heart begin to race like mad at the sound of her voice...well, nice move Roman, you certainly got me there...I smiled to myself.

''Look we need to talk'' she said impatiently ''Roman told m...-''

''How are you babe?'' I asked softly.

''This is not a 'how are you?' conversation Seth, so I'm just gonna get straight to the poi...-''

''It's so good to hear your voice again...'' I whispered, and I meant it too. Just the sound of her sweet voice was enough to make my heart beat faster and slower all at the same time, that was just the effect she had on me ''...I have to say, it hurt a little though when you changed your number babe''

She was silent now.

''Babe?''

''Yeah 'BABE'!'' a male voice barked, immediately jolting back to reality when I heard Romans voice.

''Hey! Put Faith back on th...-'' I began saying, but he immediately cut me off.

''She called you for a reason you punk, so I suggest you put your listening ears on, 'cause she's only gonna tell you this once!'' he roared, and I waited patiently while he passed the phone back to Faith...

''Look Seth, Romans told me what you want, and I gotta say, I'm real disappointed that your sentence wasn't long enough for you to change the error of your ways. Because trying to blackmail us like this is...-''

''Not ''us'' just him'' I told her.

''When it comes to Roman Seth, what you do to HIM, you do to me too! So yes, I'm real disappointed that you're trying to blackmail US! Because once again, I trusted you...I trusted you to stay the hell out our lives when I gave you that money back! But all you saw it as, was an opportunity to once again get what you want. Well, that certainly doesn't sound like a man looking for forgiveness'' she said, sounding extremely disappointed with me ''I mean come on Seth, isn't there some other way we can work this all out...please?'' she asked.

I felt bad right now...but only for a second or two. Because if this was successful, then the payoff would be oh so sweet!

I listened closely as she spoke, and noticed that she maintained her voice well, but not well enough to mask the cracks that were beginning to show, the ones displaying great panic and desperation under her calm demeanour, telling me only one thing...I was getting closer to what I wanted.

''There's always another way Faith, but I don't think you wanna hear my plan B...'' I whispered into the phone...

''You make me sick!'' she hissed back!

''I make myself sick babe, so no love lost'' I could tell I was frustrating her with my cocky attitude, but it was all part of the bigger plan.

''I assume you didn't just call me to tell me how disappointed you are in me...?'' I continued.

''No, we uh...we think we have a way of getting you your contract back, sooner rather than later in fact, but it's risky'' she said ''...so what I need from you Seth is your word. Your word that you will keep Romans medical issue a secret LONG after all this is said and done, because what we have to do to ensure this deal goes down...well, it may hurt a few people in the process'' she said, so undoing extremely uncomfortable right now ''so I need your absolute assurance that you will KEEP YOUR WORD Seth, and not tell ANYONE about Rom...''

''You have my absolute word babe, I promise. So, what's this master plan you got cook-''

''We'll call you closer to the time'' she said, and then the line went dead.

To be honest I didn't really care what it was, just as long as they pulled it off. I had a real good feeling about this now. All I had to do was sit and wait...

ROMAN POV:

''So...?'' I asked Faith, both worry and anticipation in my eyes as she closed the phone and turned to me.

''He gave us his word'' she said, still with a look on her face like she was devising a brilliant plan...

I had to know now...''What are you thinking baby? What's this plan of yours that may have a few people hurt?'' I asked concerned.

''Well, here's what I was thinking...'' and I leaned in as Faith began telling me everything.

HALF AN HOUR LATER....

''Jesus baby! I'm...I'm still not sure if I'm comfortable with doing all that. It's extremely risky...I mean what if it doesn't wor...-''

''We don't really have a choice right now Roman, do we?'' she said sternly ''so were gonna see this thing through, and pray for the outcome to work in our favour'' she said, and took a deep breath while folding her arms across her chest, trying to convince herself to be strong. But just like me, I could see she was scared as hell.

No more words were needed now, as we stood and held each tight...god damn you Seth Rollins! I really wish you'd burn in hell!

SETH POV:

I'm a bastard aren't I? Ha ha, but you know you love me. Love you too!

FAITH POV:

That night, in the shower I cried simultaneous tears with the water streaming down on me. I couldn't even put into words just how much emotional pain I was feeling right now.

I journeyed back in my mind to that time when I looked up, and prayed to god for Roman's condition to get better, as I waited in the doctors clinic for him, with it being just moments later that our prayers were answered when his doctor announced that his condition had completely gone.

Now here we are, two plus years later exactly where we'd started...and it was all my fault. If I had just confided in Roman about Seth bothering me, then none of this would be happening! Now I'm tasked with hurting even more people to keep from Roman getting in any unnecessary trouble. And I was willing to do it too, no matter what it took because I loved him, and I would do anything for him, including going to the ends of the universe and back if that's what it took to protect him.

I really did love him with all my heart, and I be damned if I let the likes of Seth Rollins ever come between us again!
