The rumble of the engine echoed down the road as a kodiak brown car made its way down the empty road. Five people sat in it. It was crowded but they didn't know what to expect.
"If I remember correctly- the gas station should be around this turn-" Virtual mumbled. The car went around the corner and a gas station sat there. The lights were dark and a single vehicle was parked outside the door. Virtual slowed the car as she pulled to the side of the road. "Okay- let's go guys-"
"Wait- what if someone is there-" El exclaimed before Nikolai shushed him. Spot, El, and Nikolai got out of the car with Virtual leading. "Okay- Okay- Why couldn't Ezmeralda have come?" El whispered.
"If you recall earlier this month, she started night watch and she hasn't slept well." Nikolai replied, "Even if she wasn't on Night watch, she might have gone with the other supply group because they were going to the city."
"Shut up guys-" Virtual hissed as they grew closer. It smelled like a gas station.... Like gas.
The group reached the gas station and peered in. Nobody was in there. They took their guns out and snuck in. Nobody had been there for a while, the shelves were stocked with snacks and supplies and even medical things. "Shit, we hit the jackpot! Everyone grab everything that we need... I'll go check the counter." Virtual exclaimed. She ran over to the counter and peered over the edge. Nobody on the ground.... But there were keys. Car keys.
They just scored another car. Everything was looking up. Nothing bad could happen right now.
But there had to be a missing corpse. Who would just leave car keys and supplies like this....
Virtual busted the cash register open to reveal a bundle of cash, adding up to $150. It's not like they needed it but- what if someone got kidnapped and they needed money to get them back? She stuffed the wad of cash in her pocket and continued looting.
The others were shoving medical supplies, water bottles, and food in their bags and pockets. They had to feed and take care of 14 people... and maybe even more considering Ezmeralda was picking up people from off the road now.
Nikolai walked into a backroom where some more supplies were. It was dark and he couldn't see, until he turned the light on. Two dead eyes stared at him and he froze.
A scream jumped out of his throat as the room went dark again and a sharp pain stabbed him in the neck.... And then in the arm. There were gunshots and yelling.
It felt like his skin had been ripped from his body and... it had been. His life slowly drained as he bled out.
El screamed as he rushed to Nikolai's side. "Nikolai! Nikolai- look at me!!!!" Nikolai let out a groan.
Spot grabbed El and ripped him away from Nikolai. "We need to go!" She yelled.
"No! NO!" El screamed as he struggled against Spot. Virtual stood there in fear. She let out a whine. What were they going to say? What was going to happen?
Virtual hesitated before bringing her gun up to Nikolai's head. "Im so sorry-"

Ezmeralda finished hammering a board to the bed, adding extra support. "If the bed collapses again just tell me and I'll fix it." She said as she stood up.
Oliver awkwardly stood there. He had been here for a month and Ezmeralda was the only one that talked to him... the only one he talked to really. The others thought he was a little crazy, catching him walking around and talking to himself in full on conversations.
He wanted everyone to trust him but no matter how hard he tried, Thomas seemed to watch him. Especially when he was around Ezmeralda... Ezzy? Ezmeralda? Ez? Everyone was calling her different things!
