Wow. It feels weird to write this story again 😂. I'll try and mash my old style back into my new one, but it might not fit too well.
Everyone sat around the bar, waiting for the explanation from the twins. Both of them seemed reluctant to share what the heck had just happened.
"Alright," Ban began," I'll poke. What the hell just happened out there? One second, there's a scary looking guy flying outside of the tavern, and the next thing I know, Zadora's all crazy and is trying to kill everyone!"
Zadora winced. "I'm really sorry about that. It-it gets hard to control when I let it out like that."
Meliodas sighed. "If we're going to spill the beans, we might as well do it in style."
Ten minutes later, they all sat with mugs of ale on the counter. King eagerly sat on a barstool, his feet swinging back and forth, waiting to find something to ridicule the twins over.
"Zadora and I were born three thousand years ago as the first children of the demon king. Because Zadora was born a girl, our father kept her hidden from the other demons. I was to rule the outer world, while Zadora was trapped in the underworld, serving our father as a life sentence."
The room was silent, all except for King's rocking.
Zadora kept her eyes down as she continued. "When my father realized my true power and potential, he let me escape. He waited far too long. I was burning with anger and resentment against him. He hoped I could help him win the war.
"I was too far gone to think straight. That's what purgatory does to you. It destroys your mind, not too fast, it has to be painful. But that was when I met him."She set her eyes on the man next to her.
"Tyler was his name. He saved me back then. He helped me remember who I was. When I remembered, I vowed to kill my father and stop what he was doing. But Estarossa was never far from me. He heard what I was doing, how I was regaining my sanity. He tipped off my father, who then sent a Nephilim to kill him.
"But the thing didn't finish the job. It only injured him to the point of no healing. He begged me to kill him, and I didn't want him to suffer."
Tears had begun to water the girl's eyes as she looked to the floor.
"After, I was very angry with my father. But there was nothing I could do about it. So I killed every Nephilim in existence to pay for the loss of Tyler."
A small ghost of a smile danced across her face, so fast it almost wasn't there.
"My father was very mad at me for that. Wiping out an entire race before he could. That was where my punishment came from. At first there was no punishment. But then, several years later, another Tyler and I stumbled upon each other.
"He was a young wealthy man, oh in his late teens maybe, and he had angered a couple of the giants in the neighboring country. I, naturally, saved him. He and I then fell for each other again. I told him of my past, about the other Tyler. He smiled and told me that we'd been reunited. Several years later, when I was away, he was robbed and stabbed in the chest. I heard him screaming."Once more, I had to end him."
"Oh I got my revenge. But my father has lost the war, and the other demons and I were sealed away into the other realm."
She looked back up at the man next to her. "You are the third Tyler. And once again, I will be the end to your life."
The bar sat in silence, not even King bothered to say anything.
Tyler scowled. "Then kill me!" He yelled, breaking the silence. "Why hurt yourself by staying with me any longer than you have to?"
"Because, Tyler," Zadora pleaded with broken eyes, "it's really not that easy. I care far too much to kill you again."
Ban slammed his mug on the table and marched out of the room with an angry expression on his face. The pub watched as he slammed the door at the peak of the stairs shut behind him.
Meliodas sniffed. "What's his problem? Can't handle a little competition?"
Elizabeth lightly slapped him.
Zadora closed her eyes and stood from where she sat. "I've got him."
Ban's POV-
It's not fair. Why does nothing ever go my way? Is it too much to ask for her to notice me?
The door opened slightly, and her blonde hair peeked through the gap. "Hey." She muttered. I turned my head.
She walked further into the room and kneeled beside me. "What's the matter?" She tilted her head as she spoke.
"I don't understand why you trust him that much." I lied. There was much more to it than just that.
"Because," she said, "I care about him. Just like how I care about you, and Meliodas, and Elizabeth, and everyone else."
Well, as long as the jerk was getting friendzoned with me, it was alright with me.
