Biology class. It was quite possibly the worst class offered at William Steeves High School. The only sound in the large room was of pencils scribbling down notes. The clock ticking in the corner of the room only reminded the students of the time they were wasting while here in class.

Jessica Greene tapped her pencil agitatedly against her desk. Her stomach felt as if it was full of acid and beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she waited impatiently for class to end.

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. "Excuse me," Jessica's nasally voice pierced through the silence, "Can I go to the bathroom?"

The teacher, Mrs. Simmons, dismissed her and the class soon returned to the previous silence once more.

Decades seemed to pass since the brunette left the class to go to the bathroom and the teacher was beginning to get agitated.

"Where is Jessica? It shouldn't take this long to go to the bathroom!" boomed the teacher.

"I don't think she was feeling very well," Cassandra, who sat next to Jessica, commented.

The teacher glared and held up a finger to silence Cassandra. "I'll go get her myself. Stay seated class and don't make a sound or you'll all have detention," she warned.

The students nodded quickly in fear before she left slamming the door behind her.

A few agonizing minutes later, a tortured scream echoed through the school. The students jumped in their seats and looked around worriedly.

One student, Henry, started to stand from his seat but he was quickly stopped.

"Stop," Fiona, another classmate, hissed, "You're going to get us all in trouble!"

"Dude," Henry replied, "Someone could be hurt and you're concerned about getting detention?"

"It's probably nothing," a third student piped in, "Someone probably just slipped or got scared or something."

Everyone took this as a valid explanation but still the teenagers weren't at ease.

Then, a body banged against the door of the classroom. One brave person, Megan, rose from her seat and approached the door. Something thumped against the door once more followed by another. Megan cautiously reached for the door handle and hesitated. She looked back at the other teenagers with a fear stricken face and silently pleaded for reassurance. Some of the others gave a gentle smile or an encouraging nod.

Megan turned to face the door once more and yanked it open rapidly before she could convince herself otherwise.

In stumbled Jessica, however now she donned skin that was tinted the colour of cinder blocked and clothes splattered with red.

Megan backed away from Jessica in shock and was even more shocked by what happened next.

Jessica threw herself at Megan and knocked her onto the hard tiled floor. Megan cried in pain as her head slammed against the ground. She tried to push Jessica away from her but the other girl clung to her with bloody hands.

Then Jessica's head dipped down towards Megan's neck. In one fast motion, Jessica dug her teeth into Megan's flesh and pulled it from her body.

Screaming, that's all you could hear. Everyone in the room was screaming. Megan continued to try and push Jessica off of her but her arms started to go limp and grow weaker as her crimson red blood continued to spill from her neck and across the floor.
