When we arrived, I was greeted with hellos from James, and Luke. Adam was nowhere to be seen. Most likely smoking in the room that Tom had allocated him to.
Alec took me into a room. It was a gaming room. So many game consoles. So many. Lots of TVs. Lots of TV. There was a room connected to it. I could see computers and laptops lined up. All in one line. So many things. Too much. My brain couldn't cope.
I was in a daze as Alec walked me over to a red beanbag. I flopped myself onto it and saw a boy on a blue beanbag across from me. He had burnt umber hair, which was flicked over his right eye so it couldn't been seen. He had a lip piercing and a nose piercing. He wore a grey jumper that was way to big for him, and diem skinny jeans that looked as if they had been washed over and over again. His skin was pale, like he hadn't gone out in the sun for months. He had a red hat on, and his eyes. His eyes. His bright blue electric eyes. They seemed to stare into my soul.
"Katie," he said with a small smile. His voice sounded quite passive and carefree but it was mixed a little bit of 'If you mess with me I will smash you'.
"Yes?" I replied still looking at his eyes.
"Have you been feeling strange lately?"
"Um? No. I'm feeling fine. Why?"
"No reason."
"There's gotta be a reason."
"There's no reason." Tom repeated."Oii Miles mate! Da fuck are you?!" Adam called.
"I'm here!" Tom called out.
"Ahh there's Tommy boy!"I saw Tom roll his eyes. "You are so high right now."
"What? Me? Nah. I'm fine." Adam replied.
"No you're not. Do you want food by any chance?"
"Nope actually. I just wanted to call you Tommy boy."
"Okay. Now leave Adam."
"You're no fun." Adam replied as he left the room.We all sat there in silence.
"Now anyway," Tom or 'Miles' started breaking the silence, "about your training."
"My training?!" I asked alarmed.
"Yes. You're training. You are going to have to learn to defend yourself."
"But effort."
"Do you wanna die?" Tom asked starring straight into my eyes.
"Yes actually. I'd be with Blake then."Tom just sighed and mumbled something to himself. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Katie." Alec scolded.
"What?!"
"You know what."I glared at him.
Oooo~oooO
Later on that night I found myself once again walking around with no pants on following Alec around the room.
He was getting annoyed at me because I was just following him around.
"Katie would you go do something already?"
"I have nothing to do," I whined, "this place is soooo boring."
"Go talk to Adam then. He's never boring."
"I don't wanna talk to Adam."
"Then go to sleep."
"Tried that."
"What do you mean you tried that? You haven't even tried to sleep."
"You woke me when I was asleep when you came in before." I replied. Alec rolled his eyes.
"Would you get out of the bathroom please?"
"Why?"
"Because I want to have a shower."
"I suppose I'll leave then." I replied turning around and going into the bedroom. I rolled my eyes as the door closed behind me.I proceed to stand there not really sure on what I was going to do. I had 'training' tomorrow. I gathered that I should probably sleep, but I wasn't tired.
Still I hopped into bed and hugged one of Alec's jumpers. Call me crazy, but I couldn't sleep until I had that jumper. The smell seemed to help me fall asleep.
Though I woke up again at about one in the morning. I ended up going into the lounge room and sitting on the couch. Tom was there. Watching TV. He didn't know what he was watching but we weren't really watching it, we were talking.
"Why did Adam call you Miles today?" I asked.
"Cause that's my real name."
"Then why does everyone call you Tom?"
"A girl at school, she used to annoy the crap outta me, so I wasn't very nice to her. I ways grumped out at her and well she didn't like it. One day she asked me if my mood swings were caused by my period, and then she started calling me Time Of The Month. And she shortened that to, Tom. She took 'The' out of it because it was easier to say Tom. And it just sorta stuck."
"Well. That's an odd nickname to have."
"Yeah."
