(y/n)'s POV
I walk along the cobblestone road and see the castle, it was HUGE like 10 stories tall at least. I see the drawbridge leading inside and as a cross the wooden bridge, I hear a BOOM. I turn around and more and more BOOMs echo though the town. We're under attack I think. I turn around to where Jade was following me, she's drawing her bow ready for something to charge through the gates.
Something did charge through the gates but not the castle town gate, the castle gates. Behind use I see a platoon of soldiers probably about 50 charge out to meet the enemy head on. Jade follows me as we set up a position inside the castle, helping civilians and on lookout in case the attackers decide to scale the wall.
Just then another platoon of soldiers comes out of the castle gates. This time a little smaller probably about 30 of them. I turn around to look at the battle that's going on. Then I saw it, Barbarians, each with dual axes and sometimes even harpoons. The first line of defense has fallen.
Nobody's POV
The barbarians charge and are met with the soldiers, the soldiers then retreat, uh oh thought (y/n) knowing that didn't go so well. "Come on we have to help them" (u/n)says to Jade. Jade nods and readies her bow with a arrow. I unsheathe my sword and grab a nearby shield from a blacksmith shop, it's a pretty simple shield but it will do.
(y/n) then charges at the dismembered group celebrating victory and quickly hacks off a few heads. The barbarians not seeing this attack quickly try to retrieve their weapons and while the did so, leaving their exposed back, (y/n) stabbed a few and then prepared for a pretty chaotic battle.
Out of the 15 barbarians celebrating (y/n) managed to kill 10 of them before they even got a chance to attack. However, 5 remained and now armed, (y/n) took a defensive pose as the barbarians attacked, (y/n) managed to dodge the first axe, block a harpoon, and then spin attacked to take out 3 barbarians in one fell swoop.
The remaining barbarians slashed at (y/n) they managed to surround him with one barbarian on each side of him. They both struck simultaneously but (y/n) simply dodged and they both ended themselves by striking themselves with their own axes. Jade managed to hold off barbarian reinforcements during (y/n)'s battle. Nice going there Jade." (y/n) said. "thanks i'm glad I was useful for onc-" Jade was cut off by a voice that yelled "help." Jade and (y/n) turned to each other, and nodded.
They went to where the voice came from and (y/n) saw why they were in danger. 2 soldiers, both girls, one that looked like a knight and another that looked like a mage, cornered by 5 barbarians. (y/n) didn't even have a second thought before jumping in, driving his sword into a barbarians skull, he crumpled to the floor lifeless, the other barbarians turned around to see who their attacker was, and then they saw (y/n) with the sword that seals evil. The barbarians, enraged, charged at (y/n) but he made quick work of them, a stab to the chest and a few hacks and slashes, the barbarians lifeless bodies lay on the ground.
(y/n) sheathed his sword as he went over to the soldiers. "You guys alright?" (y/n) asked. "yeah, thanks for the help, but who are you?" the knight asked. "Names (y/n) and that one over there is Jade, an elf." (y/n) stated. The 2 soldiers introduced themselves, Amy was the knight and Brianna was the mage. "Well then i'll be seeing you guys" Amy said as she got up. They headed towards the castle and (y/n) and Jade followed, since they had to go there too.
(y/n) looked behind him and saw the ruined castle town, lucky no civilian lives were lost, but many soldiers lost their lives. (y/n) sighed knowing that while he was the hero, he wasn't as strong as the original, and that gave him the determination he needed to continue with his quest.
(y/n) and Jade crossed the drawbridge and then entered the castle, were they will meet the King of Mythion in person.
