(LONG CHAPTER ALERT)

I have been walking back and forth in my room for about 15 minutes now contemplating whether I should open the door and get my biscuit in the kitchen and run to my car or just run to my car. But due to several incidents in the past, I have successfully brought myself another misery; gastric. I don't want my work to be affected because of gastric pain.

I slowly opened the door and tiptoed to the kitchen. Guess he's gone. Just when I was about to continue walking to the kitchen, I felt a presence beside me. Damn! Again, I came face to face with this hot mess. I quickly turned for a second. It's not really me; it's just my body reacting to my fear.

It's now or never!

I slowly turned around and looked at him before diverting my gaze to the window behind him. He looks extremely good in his tux. That makes me wonder what his job is.

I was expecting a terrible comment from him but his words just stunned me.

" Good morning Tracy. You seem all pretty and ready to head out. Where are you working anyway?"

He just moved to the fridge to get his milk and took the cereal from the cabinet before settling his extremely good looking butt on the chair.

I just stood there, tears threatening to spill. It is extremely rare for someone to actually compliment me especially saying I look pretty. Not even Tom! This guy is reacting completely different from what I was expecting. I am extremely confused and it took me a minute to realize he was looking at me waiting for an answer.

"Oh sorry. Morn...ing to y..you too. I'm working at Liam Corp."

" Ah I see. Come join me, aren't you having your breakfast?"

I just walked to the cabinet while replying " I...I'm actually late. I'm just gonna grab my biscuit and leave". There is no way I am going to show my face while he's eating. Even if he says I am pretty.

He did say I am pretty didn't he? Damn! Girl, do not, I repeat DO NOT get your hopes high!

" Alright Tracy. See you later. Have a nice day".

" You too". I just walked quickly to my car and drove to work. Somehow, I couldn't stop smiling. He thinks I'm pretty? People might think I am overreacting for a simple comment like that, but only those who are in my shoes know how little compliment like this could just brighten our day.

Upon reaching, I quickly walked to my room to keep my bag. I have about 10 minutes to have my breakfast. I quickly went to the pantry and got myself a cup of hot chocolate. Once I was done with my breakfast, I walked to my room only to find out the door wide open.

" Good morning Tracy. I would like to introduce you to your senior, Mr. Simon. He is the head of the finance department. He just came back from his holidays. He will be the one monitoring you and assigning related tasks to you." The look he gave me was enough for me to predict my terrible future in this company. Hell awaits you baby!

He just nods his head and gave me a fake smile. I smiled at him and introduced myself.

"Right, my work is done here. I will leave you both to have your discussion."

I was internally screaming at Cath begging not to leave me with this guy. I was just thinking my day is gonna be fine. And the devil speaks " I can't believe they actually took someone like you. I bet your academic performance is the only thing that helped you. I will take note and suggest Mr. Liam to add in physical appearance as a requirement the next time he hires someone".

What in the world! Is there any fact saying pretty faces perform well and have the best brain compared to people like me? Have you ever looked yourself in the mirror? You look like the evil magician in the Smurf movie!! That half bald head of yours is shining better than your yellow teeth, you...... Okay Tracy, calm down...
