___"Will you say something already?" Luke asked quietly, frustration in his voice making me look on the other side of the car, through the window. He's been trying to get me to say something during the whole ride home.
"Are you okay?" I finally asked just as quietly as he did and turned back to look at his swollen lip.
"I'm fine." Luke pulled up on our driveway and unbuttoned his seatbelt.
We both got out of the car and walked inside of our apartment, me going straight to my room not saying anything to Luke. I sat on my bed and didn't even bother to take off my shoes. I was just sitting there, staring straight ahead of myself and thinking.
I just wanted to think. That's what I needed.
Or maybe it wasn't. Maybe that's exactly what I didn't need. I shouldn't overthink. That's never good.
But I was so confused. I didn't understand anything. Harry might've been lying, but then again he didn't have a reason to lie about this. And how would he make this up anyway.
And it's obvious Luke knew Harry from somewhere and I know that Luke's pretty short tempered so it doesn't surprise me that they might've fought before.
I heard a knock on the door before they slightly opened, Luke's head peeking inside.
"Can I come in?" Luke asked and I nodded my head slightly.
If I want to know what actually happened what's the better way than to ask him directly.
"Can I sit?" Luke pointed to the spot next to me and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"You don't have to ask for my permission to do everything." I let him know and he sat down next to me, both of us staring straight ahead of us.
"I know what he probably told you." Luke started, making me look at him. He returned the look and continued, "I've known him for a while."
"I noticed." I sighed and Luke opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "He said you told him to break up with me or else you will kill him."
Luke uncomfortably squirmed in his seat and adjusted the hem of the sleeves on his shirt.
"Uhh- That's a- That's really just basics." He stuttered. "I didn't mean I'd actually kill him, just beat the living shit out of him." He finished and scratched the back of his head.
My eyes widened and Luke noticed I was taken aback and confused.
"Why did you do that? You didn't even know me back then." I sighed and crossed my legs on the mattress. Luke did the same and turned towards me.
He was quiet for a long time, probably thinking. I didn't interrupt him because he probably had a lot to say. I just hoped he wasn't in fact a serial killer whose plan was to get me in his apartment and kill me.
Luke grabbed his quiff with one hand and propped his forehead on the other, giving out the frustrated posture. I could tell there was something bothering him about what he was going to say and I had a feeling not everything would be about Harry, him and me.
And I was right.
Luke finally let go of his hair and brought his head back up, starting to speak.
"I was out getting drunk on the beach with Michael and went for a walk because I still felt like shit back then. I used to take long walks and think about dying and what's it like. I thought about feelings, if you feel anything when you die, if you feel pain or happiness.
