"I missed you guys"
Said out loud, confidently.
But inside,
A shaky breath was held for the hope that that was what would be said back.
Bitten lips, darting eyes.
"we missed you too"
You tell yourself it's the truth and
That everything will go back to "normal".
And it does.
The sad thing is,
It always does.
