I woke up to the other side of the bed sinking in. I felt his strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me closer.

"Goodmornin." He said lowly kissing the back of my neck. He began to gently plant kisses on my shoulder as he moved his hand up my leg.

"Move Devin." I said pushing him off. "I'm not in the mood." He smacked his teeth before rolling over.

"You ain't neva in the fuckin mood."

Devin is my boyfriend. It's not an ideal relationship though. He's 27. I'm only 18. It started out as him just being nice. He would come into the diner that I worked at and we would always engage in conversation. He always tipped well. One thing led to another, and now I live with him.

It was nice in the beginning, but then he began drinking and beating on me. The sex became forced. Everything just changed. It's been going on for a few months, but I continue to stay because I have no where to go. My parents ain't shit, and my nana is in a nursing home. I have no other family. I don't make enough at the diner to move out on my own, so I just suck it up and stay.

I picked up my phone and saw that it was 9:30 in the morning. I had to be at work by 11. I'm working a double today, which is nothing new. I sighed as I got out the bed and walked into the bathroom. Looking at myself in the mirror, I noticed the bruises on my neck and arm that were still fresh from a fight we got into two days ago.

I picked up my make up bag and began to cover them up. I brushed my teeth and washed my face before throwing my hair into a high ponytail and putting on my uniform. Walking back in the room, I grabbed a few pens and stuck them into my apron pocket. I took my phone of the charger and headed out the house. I walked to the bus stop and took a seat on the bench.

Mr. Raymond never comes on time, but I never complain since he lets me ride for free. He knows my grandma, so he does it as a favor. I waited 30 minutes before he finally pulled up. I stood up as he opened the doors of the bus.
