I aroused from my slumber. It was a good morning. The catlike white ears that sat on top of my head were perked up. (Everyone has those.) The sun shone through my window and the birds sang outside. I yawned and stretched in my bed. I sat up on the bed. I looked at my alarm clock, it was 7:45!

I had to go to school today and it started at 7:50, I only had 5 minutes to get there. I quickly threw my clothes on and grabbed a granola bar to eat on the way. I quickly got my bike and pedaled for life. I had missed the bus. I'm never going to make it!

Ten minutes later I got to school. The bell had rang and the doors were closed. I had to go to the office.

"Thank you." I said as I walked out of the office with my hall pass. I had missed half of the class already. When I got there my English teacher asked for the hall pass.

"See me after class." She told me. I sighed and tried to catch up. When to bell rang I went toward Mrs. Gavin's desk. "Silver, I've noticed you're struggling in class. I understand why, but I want to give you some advise. Here, on this page there are tutors, many people have already picked most, pick out of these two." She pointed at two names: Shadow and Spike. "I recommend Shadow. He was one of my straight A+ students. He's really nice, but no one seems to notice." She said sadly.

"Alright." I signed my name under Shadow's. "I hope this helps."

"It will sweetheart. He's really nice. Here, you'll need this for your next class. The bell already rang." She said handing me a corridor pass.

"Thank you mam." I walked out and got my books for Science. There my best pal sat by my empty seat. "I have a corridor pass, Mrs. Hinnegan." She took it and took a note and threw the pass away.

"Hey what took you long? You missed half of first period and you were about to miss half off second period. Did you wake up late again?" He asked in whispers.

"You know me so we'll Sonic." I whispered. Then we fist bumped under the desk. We had been friends since pre-k. We met when we both wanted the last snack, then I had the idea to split it in half and give him my fruit roll-up so he wouldn't tell on me.

"So what are we doing today?" I asked in a whisper.

"Studying the human body." He whispered back. I told Sonic about tutoring and the guy. He said he that people say he's really dark. Well, we went on with school, till the end. I was gonna be meeting my tutor tomorrow morning, during first period.

Next morning I got up early to go to tutoring. I was supposed to meet him at the library. You see out library had little what seemed square rooms made of bookshelves that formed walls. There was always an opening for the teacher to see what you were doing, but sometimes the door could be closed.

I got to school at about 7:10 and ate some breakfast there. Sonic wasn't here yet, of course he always makes it to class in time do to his speed. No one saw him ever. We of course weren't suppose to show anyone our powers. I had sometime to finish some of today's work, but the bell rang.

The principal came in and asked all the students who had tutoring to wait at her office, Dr. Dokery; more like Dr. Stalkery. She will find out about everything and anything. She watches and hears everything! She finally took us to the library. There she told us that our names were taped on a door into a small square.

I found mine. I released a nervous sigh. I was nervous, I had no idea how this guy looked like. Then inside I heard someone talking. I slowly turned the door knob and opened the door.

My jaw dropped. This guy looked extremely nice. Mrs. Gavin was right. I mean besides he wore all black and his skin was pale. His hair was black too, and his eyes were ruby red.

"Well hello, Silver?" He asked. His voice was so silky and smooth.

"Yes, hello Shadow or would you like to be called Mr. Shadow?" I asked. He smiled at me.

"Call me Shadow I'm only a senior. You're a junior or sen-"

"Senior, anyway I've having some trouble with English and a couple of assignments." I said blushing a bit in shyness.

"I know Mrs. Gavin kinda told me, but I know how to help you. What's troubling you?" He asked. I talked to him about the problems and he explained to me everything, he was happy to repeat himself if I didn't get any of whatsoever.

He even helped me with my homework for other assignments. He even gave me a bit meditation and yoga. He had noticed I had troubles sleeping and with some frustration with homework. He told me that he used to be in the same situation as me right now.

"Well we only have about five minutes, you could check out a book or something." He said smiling at me.

"Wait, I want to know about you. Mrs. Gavin told me that you're really nice but everyone seems to fail to see that." He sighed and looked to the side.

"Yeah, everyone does. The first day, I finally get to know them so well, then when they ask about me, and when I explain to them they just don't want to be near me again." He explained to me. I felt bad for the guy.

"No, I actually want to learn about you." I said leaning toward him.

"When I was a small child..." He went on with his story. I paid attention to every detail he made. When I got to learn his story I understood why everyone ran. "This is the part where you're supposed to run." He said looking down.

"No, this is a very sad story, but you're really lucky to have a story like that. All kinds of action and emotional moments. It so amazing!" I told him, but the bell ring. "It was really nice meeting you Shadow."

"This is not goodbye. I'll see you tomorrow and every day. That's the advantage of having a tutor." He said. I'm really glad.

"I guess I'll see tomorrow..." I said as I walked out the door.

Wow, that was actually pretty fun!
