The Platform & Train Ride

[Chapter One: The Platform & Train Ride]

"Why'd he have to come so early?" Mana asked. "You weren't even sleeping Mana, You were just laying on your bed reading Wattpad." Onyx rolled their eyes. "Exposed." Naka snickered. "Common knowledge," Onyx said, causing Mana to roll her eyes.

"Anyways, This was the last train to London today. If Jake had missed it we'd have to wait and honestly I think Nina is getting restless." Onyx explained to the impatient Mana who was rocking on her feet. Mana nodded.

"Can I wait over there while you two are looking?" Mana had asked.

Onyx looked around then nodded. "Okay, But remember-"

"Six Feet. I know." Mana sighed. Mana walked off to sit in between platforms 9 & 10. The train station was almost deserted, mostly because of Covid, so there wasn't much problem staying six feet from others.

Mana leaned back against the wall, only to fall backwards. Mana's heart dropped as she fell back. 'I was sure there was a wall right there?'

Mana got to her feet slowly and looked around. In front of her there was a beautiful red steam engine with 'Hogwarts Express' written on it. 'No- Hogwarts is just make-believe.. Right?' Mana asked herself as she looked around. There were many people on the station, most dressed in normal clothes, but some in Victorian-style dresses and cloaks.

There were children, All seemed to have a trunk with owls, ('Are those real owls?' Mana questioned.) cats, and toads. She continued looking around frozen to her stop until she heard two voices calling to her.

"Mana," Naka called for her attention. "Yes?" Mana snapped out of it, turning to face Naka, who was also marveling at the platform.

Naka opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by a woman close by. "Best be getting on the train now, Dearies. Unless you want to miss it." The woman seemed nice, she had graying brown hair and kind silver eyes that seemed to twinkle. Not knowing what to say or do the trio nodded and headed to the train. Naka looked around as he got on followed by Onyx who was tailed by Mana.

"How are we going to get off without any parents noticing? And what if this is a private school- Wait it probably is! This is probably a private school named after 'Hogwarts'!" Mana exclaimed after shutting the door and closing the shades. "We'll just stay on the train till it goes back, It'll be fine. Everyone from that plat-form should be gone by then." Onyx assured the girl. "But what if-" "Mana, I love you, but sometimes you need to shut it," Naka said.

Mana shut her mouth and the trio sat in silence. After a while, a woman with a trolley full of candy came. "Anything from the trolley dearies?" She asked. "N-" "A chocolate frog for each of us, Please." Onyx interrupted after reading the cart's list. "That'll be three sickles."

Naka pulled out his wallet to pull out a few pounds but in place of it were these weird coins. "The silver ones dear." The trolley lady helped. Naka pulled out three of the 'Sickles' and gave it to the woman who gave three 'chocolate frogs' and then went on her way. "Here Naka." Mana opened her purse to pay him back. 

"Er- Where's my stuff?" She was confused as her money had been replaced with the same coins Naka had. Onyx opened their bag to find the same thing. "Okay, that's creepy," Mana said. "Mhm." Onyx and Naka nodded. The trio remained in silence after that and the younger two fell asleep leaving Onyx awake to talk to themself. "Wake up." A voice demanded as the three in the compartment all showed their displeasure openly by groaning in protest or fully ignoring the voice. 

"tch." 

"Wake up before the train leaves." The voice said sternly. 

Naka was the first to react, forgetting that he wasn't enrolled in the school, he jetted up and quickly collected his jacket that had been removed. "Mana, Onyx. Get up." He shook the other two awake and they groaned. "We're up- We're up!" The oldest groaned. 

Mana and Onyx stood up and collected whatever they had taken off, for Onyx their gloves, for Mana her scarf. 

The train seemed to start slowly moving and the three friends + the person who woke them up all ran in the hall quickly jumping off the train. "Hurry up." The person sighed and started to walk to the carriages. "Follow me." The three followed them. "You'll be sorted with the first years, But you'll arrive with us because of certain circumstances."  They explained. 

"Not to be rude, But what's your name? and pronouns while you're at it," Mana asked. "Septimus Snape, Fifth Year Prefect. And I go by He/Him pronouns. What about you lot?" Septimus answered. "Onyx Smith. They/Them pronouns, please. I go by Rin too sometimes." Jay replied first. 

"Naka Victor. I answer to Alex as well, And I go by any and all pronouns, But My friends mostly refer to me with He/Him." Naka answered next. "Mana Moore, My pronouns are She/Her," Mana told him last. "A pleasure to meet you all." Septimus shook each of their hands. "The pleasure is ours." 

The rest of the ride was silent after that.
