Chapter 4

FLASHBACK

Drew and Barry were at the station, they were going to watch the particle accelerator turn on there because Iris got her bag stolen, and it was too crowded to watch it from star labs now.

Drew sat on Barry's desk and thought about the events from their brief time at star labs earlier, 'Barry trying to ask out Iris was PAINFUL, one because I really like him and two, because anyone could spot that he was trying to ask her out from a mile away and Iris didn't give it a thought' Drew thought to herself.

She intently watched the screen and Barry sat beside her, also watching.

"You really love her don't you Barry" Drew said, slightly sad.

He sighed "Who? Iris! What ... That be, wierd." Drew laughed "Barry, it's obvious, you've been in love with her since before you knew what love actually was."

Barry blushed a dark shade of red and he opened his mouth to say something when he was cut off, because the particle accelerator started.

Drew turned her attention to the screen and she grinned when the particle accelerator turned on.

Then there was an explosion and suddenly there was a storm. Her grinning expression fell and she began to worry.

Barry went to close the sunroof and Drew could hear crashes of thunder.

As Barry pulled on the chains a flash of light appeared and suddenly a bolt of lightning came through the roof and struck Barry.

He flew back into the table and Drew screamed and ran over to him, Drew's hand shook and she checked his pulse, she couldn't find one

Drew whipped out her iPhone and called 911.

Drew was beyond scared, Barry wasn't breathing and she couldn't find his pulse, so she started chest compressions, as soon as the 911 call ended.

When 911 got there Joe was already up here, because he heard a crash and Drew's screams, Iris was on her way.

The ambulance took Barry to the hospital and Joe, Iris, and Drew drove separately.

When they got there Drew and Iris ran ahead to see what was happening to their best friend.

Drew was shaking, when Barry was hooked up to machines in the ER, she watched them intently and explained to Joe and Iris what they meant. Then it flatlined, but his brain was still working, he was still emitting brain waves so he could still be saved, doctors and nurses rushed in and started to shock him, to give his heart a jumpstart.

"Clear." the doctor said and another wave of electricity was pulsed into his body.

Drew looked at his heart rate monitor, his pulse rises and she breathed a HUGE sigh of relief.

Drew sat down in a chair in the waiting room, Iris and Joe doing the same.

Drew kept replaying things in her head that could've gone differently, then the doctor appeared and he told them Barry's condition Drew had to choke back a sob.

Drew sat down in the chair and put her face in her hands.

'Barry's in a coma' was the only thought that ran through her head for the next hour, before she could visit him.
