"Y/N! I'm leaving!" My best friend Maja was standing there waving her hand in front of my face.
"What? Oh sorry" I say as I close my scrapbook. Call me a weirdo, but every time I make a new memory, I place a token in my scrapbook. I have years worth of pictures, tickets, and hell, even hospital bands!
Today was a particularly fun memory. Maja and I went to steal food samples at Costco for lunch.
We ended up buying an entire birthday cake and eating it on the curb in the parking lot. This token was the Costco receipt that the checkout lady drew a smiley face on.
We stopped at my apartment for an hour to drink cocktails so we didn't have to pay our entire life savings on a beer when we got to our final destination of the day; the bar.
"Okay, you said you were sorry then you zoned out again. I'm hungry hurry up!" Maja said.
"Ok jeez I'm sorry let's go!" I say as I grab my purse and lock the door behind me.
On the cab ride there I'm kind of freaking out. I think I'm underdressed.
"Maja, do you think I'm underdressed?" I ask as my best friend checks her lipstick in a pocket mirror.
I'm wearing a plain white camisole with tan flowy high waisted shorts tied withe a bow at the waist. My hair is casually thrown into a side braid brought into a bun at the back.

"No, calm down Y/N. you look great. Besides it's just a bar. It's not like you're meeting the love of your life for the first time." She says putting down her pocket mirror and looking me in the eye.
"Right" I sigh.
"Alright we're here." Our Uber pulled up in front of the bar.
L'eau de mer. It was my favourite bar on the Main Street in Rouen, France.
I moved here with Maja for University. We both went to ESIGELEC Graduate school of Engineering and got our masters degree. But she stayed on to get her PhD . I was a nice friend and decided to stay in France until she was done with school. Also I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue a career in engineering, and I didn't want to go back home to my disappointed parents and no plan.
We pulled ourselves out of the car and paid the driver.
Maja and I trudged on to the door to drink our sorrows away and have fun.
