I had gotten through the school day without running into Luke and completely ignoring the burning eyes from both him AND ASHTON, whilst avoiding Michael and that Calum kid, you know the Asian one.

It was currently after school and I had walked in the music store seeing Ashton.

He looked up at me, nodded slightly and looked away biting the inside of his cheek.

I walked up to him feeling bad for how I treated him before I left the other day.

"Uh hey Ashton.."

"Hi Erin."

I sighed, "Listen I'm really sorry about my erm attitude yesterday."

He hummed, "Well why did you snap at me anyway?"

"It's just that I like my own type of music, and people always try to change that. And I know now you probably weren't trying to change it, just asking if I had ever listened to it. So I'm sorry."

He cooed playfully, "Okay. I forgive you. Whose your favorite artist then?"

I blurted the first name I could thing of, "Iggy Azalea."

He looked like tried to hide a grimace and sort of nodded.

I realized I didn't want to make our conversation awkward and had to break the ice. "Hey Ashton? Do you have any good pick-up lines?"

He looked at me both in a confused yet amused way, "I guess, why?"

I smiled, "Because I have lots and I dunno they're always funny to say to people. It might break the ice between us a bit."

He smiled, "Okay. I'll go first. Life without you would be like a broken pencil. Pointless."

I smirked, "I don't have a library card, but do you mind if I check you out?"

"Do you have sunburn or are you always this hot?"

"Kiss me if I'm wrong... But dinosaurs still exist right?"

"Can I borrow a kiss? I promise I'll return it."

We had continued this for at least an hour whilst working and we're still going.

He smirked evily, "I'm no Fred Flintsone, but I can make your Bedrock."

"I put the STD in stud, all I need is you."

We started cracking up until we heard someone in front of us, "What did I just walk into?"

I look up to see the cute Asian guy. Uh Calum I think.

Ashton laughed, "Hey bro, this is Erin. Erin this is Calum."

"Hey. You're the new girl right? At school?"

"Yeah I am." I responded and he nodded.

We all heard the door open to see a Latin woman in her early early 20's coming toward us.

"Hey Maria." I called as Ashton waved.

"Hello darlings. You both are free to go, I can take it from here."

Both Ashton and I looked hesitant, "Are you sure?"

She nodded with a wave of her hand.

We had exchanged goodbyes and Ashton, Calum, and I walked through the door.

"Hey Erin, me and Calum are going to the Panda Express on Woodsley Street. Would you like to join?"

I smiled, happy that he offered, "Thanks but I don't think so, I don't have a car, my place is pretty close to here so I usually walk."

He smiled, "It's fine you can ride with us."

I thought about it then nodded.

It was silent for a second until Ashton shouted, "I call driving!"

I quickly yelled, "Shotgun!"

And Calum cursed at his slowness. We all got into the car and Ashton turned on the radio.

A voice sang, "I'm turning you up, burning the clutch
Full speed, both feet to the floor, feet to the floor
DJ running it back once more,
Time to party, that's all I know"

I cringed for about a second until I realized I was supposed to like this song and horribly mouthed the lyrics, shaking my arms.

Calum laughed at me from the back seat. But Ashton wasn't able to tell I didn't like nor know this song because he kept cringing.

It. Was. Torture.

We finally arrived at Panda Express and we decided to go order.

Calum was up first and the woman worker lady smiled at him and he smiled politely back.
"Nǐ hǎo."

Calum smiled, "Nǐ hǎo? Oh! Hello!"

The woman smiled hugely and started speaking quickly, "huānyíng guānglín, nǐ shì cóng nǎli/nǎr lái de? nǐ huìbúhuì jiǎng guóyŭ/huáyŭ/pŭtōnghuà?"

There became a silence and all three of us stared at the woman.

I nudged Calum with my elbow, "Hey can you translate what the hell she just said?"
