Let me tell you a story

I was once a tragic lover
The one who loves tragedy
I'm no fan of happy-ever afters
Bitter? No need to remind me

By the way, I am a reader
Books and novels are my best buddies
Words became my sword and armor
In this battle called reality

All my life, I am alone
Far from the world where I don't belong
I was lost and about to give up
When tragedy came and lifted me up

She found me when I was lost
And she saved me from falling
Oh my lovely tragedy
I've fallen for you deeply

I continued loving her
She's doing the same thing
When the unexpected happened
That I'll regret in the end

I met happy-ending accidentally
I began smiling because of her
That made me love her truly
In her arms, I felt joy and glee

I fell out of love with tragedy
She cried hard, how cruel of me
"You will regret this", and then she left
That day was my greatest regret

She started plotting deaths
With her eyes full of threats
"Have mercy on us!" they begged, in tears
But their words fell on deaf ears

Oh my dear tragedy
Why are you so cruel to me?
You're hurting me so much
I am begging you, that's enough

"Blame me not, reader", she said coldly
"You were my favorite but you left me"
"For my greatest mortal enemy"
Now leave, I regret loving you dearly"

Let me end this story
With a touch of melancholy
Once upon a tragedy
She ended up broken because of me
