Nana's POV

"Even though I know
we would crash. I'd get in the
car with you all over
again..."

For the first time in my life. I had been aware of what was going on. The car's motor roaring as we sped down the motorway. The amount of different accidents that could of happened within a single minute.

I was so overly-aware. It was frightening.

It was growing dark, the blaring white glows of headlights were all around us. Everything was going too fast for me to process.

My mother look semi-relaxed. She had asked me to hold onto the papers that the doctor gave us. Instead of focusing on the road I turned my attention to the paper.

I didn't read any of the words. I was just looking at the printed diagrams on the pages.

Until it happened.

Let me tell you. There's not a scarier sound in the world, than the sounds that you hear when you're in a car crash.

My vision was blurred. My head was spinning.

Red flashing lights came into my view. I turned my head to the right, in search of my mother.

"Mama..?" I mumbled, reaching out to her still, lifeless body. "M-Mama.." I shook her slightly.

"Mama!!!" I cried out. Struggling to get out of my seat. Yet the seatbelt was holding me back.

I was in pain, so much pain. But I just wanted her. I needed her. The only person in my world who understood me. After a few seconds of blindly struggling, a pair of strong arms lifted me out of the car. But I was too focussed on my mother to care.

I kicked and screamed as I was carried away from the bashed up vehicle. Watching as adults in uniform carefully lifted my mother out of the car, placing her on a white stretcher. Blood pouring out of her head.

It was a sight that no child should of witnessed.

Zane's POV
.time skip.

Nana never did show up at our house. In fact, her mothers car never came back. Ever.

It had been a few days, Nana hadn't been in school, or been at her house. Whenever we knocked at the door a tall man with red hair answered.

His towering physique and large form was intense and intimidating. He had a stern face, never cracked a smile. He'd always say "She's not here." Then slam the door.

To say that we're worried is an understatement. Aphmau even started crying a few days ago. We were so confused, where had she gone after she left school? And why didn't she come back..?

Once again, a few days had passed. It was afternoon. Garroth, Aphmau and I were sitting on our front lawn. When we seen a large white van pull up in front of Nana's house.

I ran to the edge of the path, barely keeping my balance on the pavement. The back of the van opened and a ramp slowly descended. A pink haired girl in a wheelchair came out. She looked at me and smiled.

Her body was covered in bruises and scratches, her legs were bandaged up. A woman came out of the drivers seat and quickly made her way around to Nana. The bun on her head bouncing in sync with her steps. She took ahold of the handles on the back of the wheelchair and pushed Nana up her front path.

The door opened and Nana's father shook his head, he looked angry. He abruptly grabbed ahold of Nana's collar and forced her to walk, even though it clearly caused her pain.

The woman looked hesitant to leave her with him, but she had no choice. She left the wheelchair outside.

Rain started to pour, I looked back at Garroth and Aphmau who were awe-struck. They were both clearly upset. Aphmau ran home, whilst Garroth and I made our way indoors.

The next day, Nana was back at school. She was the same as usual. That is, until the afternoon begun.

Aphmau, Nana and I were playing with the props and the dress-up box.

"Hey Nana, what happened to you? Why haven't you been here for so long?" Aphmau finally asked, breaking the ice. Although, the question brought an immense amount of tension between us.

"Kawaii~Chan's name isn't Nana.. It's Kawaii~Chan, Aphmau~Sama." She growled.

"No, your name is Nana. Stop acting stupid." I spoke, I instantly regretted what I said. The look on her face spoke for itself.

"Her name is Kawaii~Chan!!! Nana is gone! She is dead! Why can't you people understand that?" She cried, running out of the room and down the corridor.

I looked at Aphmau and shrugged my shoulders. For the remaining 10 minutes of the school day, we played without her, as she never came back.

After this day, we never saw Nana again.

It's been 10 years. 10, long, lonely years.

Aphmau and I grew apart, since she was home schooled for the majority of her young life.

Garroth and I? We never got along. He was in his last year of high school. I was in my second to last.

It was our first day. A new year, a new start. I walked through the corridor, my bag slung over my shoulder. I looked up for a singular second to see a girl in front of me.

Her pink hair shone in the corridor light, a red bow clipped underneath her black, silky mei'fwa ears. Golden eyes with luscious eyelashes looked into mine, a small smile laid on her face.

"Hi Zane.." She spoke.

Butterflies swarmed my stomach as a read flush grazed my covered cheeks. A black mask covering up my embarrassed glow.

"K-Kawaii~Chan..?"
