Zane's POV

"Fate had a weird way
of making our
paths cross again.."

I stood, mesmerised by the girl in front of me. Her completely different body, hair length and speaking manner. However her face still stayed identical, she still had a bit of a baby face, which if i'm being honest, is pretty cute.

She came close to me, extremely close, circling me. Her tail traced along my body as she twirled back to being in front of me, the touch from the furry limb sent shivers up my body.

"You haven't changed at all Zane.." Her highly pitched voice sounded. Her smile dipped into a frown, her ears drooping at the same pace of her lips.

"W-what's wrong?" I enquired, worriedly. Her eyes widened.

"Wow your voice DEEPENED." She accentuated the 'deepened', which caused me to chuckle slightly. "Uhm, yeahhh.. I feel bad.." She spoke.

"Why..?"

"I just.. Up and left that day, and never seen you again.." She looked down at the ground, her frown growing more saddening.

"Cmon it's fine.. we were kids.. I didn't understand what was going on at the time.. But I do now-.." I was cut off by her arms around my neck.

"You've been on my mind every day.." She whispered into my ear. I could feel many sets of eyes on us. My face grew red from embarrassment, both her words and the position we were in felt completely right, as if this moment had been waiting to happen for a long time.

The school bell rang, which caused her to quickly pull herself away and run down the corridor, she turned her head to look at me, and she smiled.

I gave her a small wave, as she couldn't see my smile due to my mask. But indeed I was smiling..

Nana's POV

I was practically cringing from the way I had just acted towards Zane. I had a common tendency of getting into people's personal space. And seeing Zane practically sent me into orbit.

I was obsessed with him as a child, always thinking about him and wanting to be with him. Sad to say that those feeling never exactly changed. If anything, they grew.

Ever since I received a phone I had stalked him on social media. I was lucky that his account was public and not private. Honestly it was really creepy. I had printed out pictures of him and made a diary all about my feelings for him.

I mean, yeah, I've had crushes on other guys before, but they were always so minor compared to this.

I had been living with my aunt and cousins ever since the car accident. My father blamed me.. He abused me and degraded me. But my aunt took me in, she helped me through the loss of my mother, and payed for my hospital treatment. I'm eternally grateful to her.

They recently won the lottery, and gave me quite a big amount of the money. So I decided to move out and stop leeching off of them.

I bought a studio apartment in the town I lived in as a child, just to see Zane again. I got a job in a nearby maid cafe to keep my money up. And enrolled into Phoenix Drop High. Also my other 'personality' is under control now. Honestly she's the whole reason why i'm working at a maid cafe, it's a perfect time to let her be herself in a fun environment which suits her well.

Anyways, the school day was slow as hell. The most eventful parts of the day were seeing Zane and trying to find somewhere to sit at lunch. (I ended up going outside.)

I was scared to walk back to my apartment, since my quickest way there was through the street I used to live in, if I seen my dad i'd probably die on the spot. But, there's nothing I can do about it, so better get it over with.

I left the school gates, grasping the straps of my backpack as I traveled through the streets.

I finally arrived at the beginning of the lane, anxiety hit me like a brick as I walked down the path, my eyes glued to the ground. The familiar pavement bricks and crevices rushed under my feet as I hurriedly walked down the quiet street. I heard children playing, their familiar voices rung in my head, so I looked. I seen three children, playing around on the grass at the front of a house, their hair colours a mix of white, red and pink. I looked closer at their faces only to recognise them. My siblings.

One turned to look at me as their face shone, the smile on their face growing even bigger as soon as they laid eyes on me. "Nana!" They shouted, running up to me. I knelt down, receiving a hug from the young mei'fwa as the others gathered around. I laughed and smiled with them for the few blissful seconds we had together. Until the front door opened.

A tall, stern looking man came out. I recognised him immediately. I stood, my siblings backing off slightly. I grasped the straps of my backpack once again, and lunged backwards, taking off down the street. The man shouting my name as I ran.

I ran as fast and as far as I could. I made it to my apartment block with little time to spare. I shut the building door behind me and peeked out of the window, seeing the familiar family car slowly drive by.

My body was quivering with fear. The man scared me half to death. My breathing was shaky and fastly paced. I decided to wait a minute or two before heading back to my apartment, making sure he was gone.

The shock of seeing him again lingered with me as I traveled up the stairs, my apartment was on the third floor, so once I arrived I was quite tired. I proceeded to pull the jingling keys out of my pocket and unlock the door, I admired the cute keychain that hung from the key, it's small face smiling up at me. The click of the lock allowed me entry to my apartment as I gently swung open the door, admiring the room in front of me.

Boxes were stacked around the space, each one reading a different word which stated the contents of the box. I had decided to start unpacking tonight as I wanted to make the apartment my own as quickly as possible.

I started with the kitchen. I pulled a box through to the open space which contained brand new, sparkling cutlery. The plates and bowls were white with small pink patterns. The mugs were an array of different designs, mainly cute ones. And the cutlery was holographic, as from different angles the material changed its colours.

I packed the pieces away into the cupboards and laid out a cutting board, then begun to put away some household cooking essentials and groceries.

Once the kitchen had been completed I moved onto the main space, which was done quicker than I thought. All I needed to do was put the cushions on the settee and my carpet on the floor, as some things were already set out for me.

The apartment came with the bathroom already decorated (weird I know?) so I only had to lay out my toiletry items.

Finally, my room. I had decorated it head to toe in pink. I added fake flowers, ivy, hanging lights, posters, my collectibles. The lot! It looked like heaven if it were my creation. My bed was filled with plushies, everything was perfect.

I was happy to be back in my home town.
