The next day, after classes were finished, Kazuki was preparing to leave when he was approached by Ricka,
"Hey, will you come with me?" She asked,
Kazuki was taken aback by her abrupt question, but quickly recovered,
"What for?" He asked, cautiously,
"Want to talk," Ricka answered,
"She's probably going to try to kill me as soon as we're alone. But the operative word is "try,'" Kazuki thought,
"Kazuki?" Ricka asked,
"Sure, where do you wanna go?"
"To the roof, want to speak in private,"
"Alright then," Kazuki said, "lead the way!"
After a few minutes of walking the two of them arrived on the rooftop, and almost instantly, Ricka rushed over to the barriers and looked down at the ground below,
"What're you doing?" Kazuki asked,
"Scanning," came the answer, "can't let anyone see us,"
Kazuki groaned,
"I figured," he said, "okay, square up then, let's make this quick,"
Ricka turned around,
"Always were the smartest in the room," she said, getting into a fighting stance,
"Now, if last night proved anything, it's that you still can't use the full potential of your ice," Kazuki remarked, also getting into a stance,
"Still effective, unlike your Kamuy," Ricka taunted,
"Well, I can't bring it here under the principal's orders, so you don't need to worry about that!"
"Well then, maybe I'll go easy on you," Ricka said, grinning,
"Oh screw you!" Kazuki yelled, angrily, "enough talk, I'm gonna beat you and send you back to Daikou!!"
Kazuki attempt to launch himself at Ricka, only to find he couldn't move his feet! He looked down and noticed they were covered in ice! He looked up and saw the ice spreading out from Ricka's feet.
"I may not have much control," she smiled, "but I can still do that. Now, die,"
Ricka drew out two kunai and prepared to launch herself at Kazuki. Kazuki sighed,
"You know, you're playing with fire, right?"
Kazuki raised his arms into the air and grinned,
"Fire-jutsu: Phoenix Flame!!"
Kazuki's hands lit up with bright orange fire and slammed them onto the ground, Ricka's ice instantly evaporated into steam. Kazuki looked up at Ricka with an expression of pure annoyance and launched himself at her, hands still blazing.
"BLIZZARD!!!" Ricka yelled,
As snow and ice began to circle around the top of the building Kazuki and Ricka charged at each other and started trading blows. Steam began to rise off of Kazuki's hands, making it even more difficult for them to see, as they continued to fight Kazuki quickly spun around and backhanded Ricka with his flaming fist, she gasped in pain but used the force from Kazuki's blow to flip around and flying roundhouse kick Kazuki in the face. Blood flew out of his mouth as he landed on the ground, Ricka rushed at him, kunai drawn, poised to kill. At the last second, Kazuki turned and aimed his hand, which was still on fire, right at Ricka, she stopped abruptly. Both of them stood there, huffing and puffing,
"If either of us move," Kazuki panted, "we're dead. So back off, please. You're my friend,"
Ricka stood there astounded,
"Wh-what?" She asked,
"You're my friend dammit!" Kazuki shouted, "I've known you since we were kids! I really care about you! I love you li-!"
"Kazuki!? Machiyuki-san!?"
Kazuki and Ricka's head spun in the direction of the voice. It was Enju!!
"E-Enju!!?" Kazuki shouted, extinguishing the fire from his hands and running over to her, "uh, listen, I can explain!"
"Y-you're both ninjas?!" Enju asked, stunned,
"Um, well...maybe?" Kazuki said,
"No. NO!! TELL ME THE TRUTH!!!" Enju shouted, grabbing Kazuki by the shoulders,
Kazuki sighed, thinking heavily on what to say next,
"Should I tell her?" He thought, "there's no use denying it, she already saw that much,"
Kazuki took a deep breath,
"Yes," he said at last, "Ricka and I are ninjas,"
"Well," Enju said, tighting her grip on Kazuki, "WHY THE HELL WERE YOU FIGHTING ON THE ROOF IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KEEP YOUR IDENTITIES SECRET, RIGHT!!!? OR IS THAT NOT HOW THEY DO IT IN YOUR VILLAGE!!!?"
"Wait, how do you know all this about ninjas?!" Kazuki asked,
Enju sighed,
"Isn't it obvious?!!" She yelled, "I'm a ninja as well!!"
"Ah!" Kazuki said, snapping his fingers, "that explains it!"
"I thought you were supposed to be smart, how was that not obvious?" Enju sighed,
"Hey! In my defense, I was panicking!" Kazuki snapped,
"You two," came Ricka's voice,
They both looked over at her,
"Argue like a couple," she continued, "it's...funny,"
Enju's face turned bright red,
"W-we're not a couple!!" She yelled, shoving Kazuki away, "besides, I heard what he said!! He loves you!!"
"Like a sister!" Kazuki interjected, "I understand why you interrupted us, but if you hadn't you would've heard that tidbit of information,"
"How was I supposed to know? I came up here to get a breath of fresh air," Enju explained, internally however, she was thinking of something else,
"He really only loves her like a sister?!" She thought, "thank goodness! Wait, why do I care!? It's not like I like him or anything! Hang on, he's looking at me weirdly, I need to respond!"
"hopefully, no one saw you two fighting," she continued, aloud, "by the way, why were you fighting?"
"My old man sent Ricka here to either bring back to my village or kill me, so she brought me up here to fight, but it ended in a draw," Kazuki explained,
"Wait, is your father the village chief?" Enju asked,
"Yeah," Kazuki answered,
"I've got it!" Enju shouted, "your last name is Araya, right? If so, that makes you're from Daikou since its chief's last name is Araya! And the chief's son from Daikou is, the Legendary Ninja!!"
"Wow, you really are smart," Kazuki said, astounded,
To his surprise, Enju turned bright red again,
"Um, th-thanks," she stuttered,
"Hey, are you alright?" Kazuki asked, "you face is bright red, do you have a fever?"
He placed his hand against her forehead, Enju's blush deepened. Next second, she slapped Kazuki across the face!
"D-don't touch people without their permission, you idiot!" She shrieked,
"Ow! Sorry, I was just worried," Kazuki said, rubbing his cheek,
Enju blushed even deeper,
"W-well, I don't need you to worry about me!" She yelled, "I'm not the Legendary Ninja, but I'm not made of glass!"
"I didn't say you were," Kazuki said, "I just was worried because you're redder than a beet!"
He indicated to Enju's face, which was indeed, very red,
"Kazuki," Ricka said, making Kazuki and Enju jump,
"She's blushing, she...likes you," Ricka explained,
"Wh-what!? No I don't! He's just a friend!" Enju yelled,
"But you want to be more," Ricka said, calmly,
"No I don't! Shaddup!!" Enju shrieked,
"No, you do," came an unfamiliar voice from behind,
Everyone turned and saw, Yamabuki standing there with another girl, she looked older, mostly likely in her third year, she had a darker skin tone and long purple hair going down her back,
"T-Tengge!? Yamabuki!? What're you doing here!?" Enju asked,
"Oh, so that's your friend you told me about!" Kazuki said,
"Oh, Enju told you about me? How sweet! And Enju, I was looking for you," the girl named Tengge explained, "you said you'd only be gone five minutes, but after about eight, I started looking for you. When I was searching I ran into Yamabuki who was looking for Kazuki, then we heard a commotion coming from the rooftop stairwell and, the rest is history,"
"Little were expecting to find you lot having a couple's argument," Yamabuki snickered,
"For the last time," Enju snarled, "we are not a couple and I don't want to be! No offense to you Kazuki!"
"None taken," he said, flatly, "also, Tengge, how do you know my name?"
"Oh, Enju told me!" She answered, smiling,
"And Enju dear," Tengge continued, "just yesterday you were telling me all about how you feel warm and fuzzy inside whenever you think about Kazuki or you're around him,"
"Uh-um!" Enju whimpered, "hrrrrrf!!"
She sat down on the floor and covered her head,
"H-hey! Are you alright?" Kazuki asked,
"No~," Enju muttered,
Kazuki sighed, sat down beside her and wrapped his arms around her in a hug,
"It's okay, I...I love you to," he said,
He felt Enju's head shoot up beside him,
"Wait, r-really?" She asked, surprised,
"Really," Kazuki said, "ever since I first saw you, something in my mind clicked, and I knew you were the one,"
"Well then, that's another thing Enju told me!" Tengge said, "she also told me that she wants give and receive tons of love and attention because of all the hard work she has to do. Which is perfectly reasonable, she does far more work than me because she just piles it onto herself,"
"Wait, what?" Kazuki asked, looking over at Enju,
"Um, yeah. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with all the work that the Head of the Student Council neglects," she explained,
"Well then," Kazuki said, "we're gonna find the Head of the Council, and convince them to do their job!"
"Uh, Kazuki? I wouldn't do that, she's very headstrong and stubborn," Enju said,
"I've dealt with one certain, headstrong, stubborn woman my whole life. I'm pretty sure I've got enough experience to deal with her!" Kazuki said,
"What about me?" Ricka asked,
Kazuki looked up at her,
"You can either leave or stay. You're choice," he said, standing up,
"Are you..forgiving me?" Ricka asked, confused,
Kazuki smiled,
"I said you're like a sister to me, what kind of brother wouldn't forgive his sister?"
Ricka blushed slightly,
"Thanks," she muttered,
She hugged Kazuki tightly, Kazuki hugged her back,
"And I'll stay, failed my mission, no point in returning home. They'll be angry,"
"Good point!" Kazuki said, "they might also send more assassins after us, but we'll be ready!"
