Shaking off the memories remaining influence, she gave the coffin one last look before turning away. They always ended up causing her nothing but pain. Leaving behind a yearning ache in her heart, a longing for what once was and what can never be. For while she can never forget, that doesn't mean that she wishes to remember either.

Heading back down the hall, she buried her emotions far enough for them to no longer hurt her. Stepping inside the library like room once more, she made her way over to the player. Double checking the scratched up unnamed tape, she pressed the play button. A young female childlike voice proceeded to play through the speaker, betraying the tapes worn out look with its clarity. Sounding as though the person speaking was actually there and not just a recording on a tape.

Entry Number 23:

June 26, 2263-

21 days after Ground Zero:

Everyone has been acting funny. Even brother. They stop talking whenever they notice I'm near. They stare at me if I'm not looking. I don't think they've realized that I notice them doing it.

They're hiding something from me. Something big.

So far Codex is the only one who isn't doing it. She's still hiding something from me, but at least she tries to be nice about it. Whenever I ask she just tells me that she had promised not to tell me. Says that it's so I won't worry or accidentally hurt myself.

At least she's honest.

I've been staying in my room so that I don't have to deal with everyone else. My dancing has gotten better. I can hold a pose for a really long time now.

If I tell you a secret, do you promise not to tell anyone else? Do you swear?

Codex has been spending almost all of her time with me. When she leaves it's only to take care of herself and to make sure Paint hasn't done something stupid. She's even been sleeping on one of my big poofs instead of her own bed.

It worries me.

I followed her once when she left my room. She didn't even look at anyone. They also didn't look at her. It looked like they were trying to pretend the other didn't even exist.

I think that I'm the only one she's talking to, and she's the only one talking to me.

I am going to find out what's going on. They can't hid it from me forever.

Now I need to go ask Paint to fix my music box. Maybe I can get some answers from him.
